I am back to playing a warlock again. Previously I used to use Necrosis, which I am also using right now. I attempted to download Necronomicon, however with it installed I didn't see it doing anything... don't know if I installed it incorrectly or what. No gui, no menu, nothing. Could be how I installed it via WAU.
Anywho, I'm curious what mods you guys use, Ace or otherwise, specifically for the warlock. Are there any screen shots or links to them?
Warlocks aren't special; people act like Necrosis and its clones are a requirement to play locks. We don't need anything specifically designed for our class.
Things warlocks need: cast bars (like all casting classes), debuff timers (like all offensive classes), proc notifications (like everyone), ammo counts (like hunters).
There is actually one warlock-specific addon I don't hate: DemonTrainerFrame, since Blizz was obviously on some really fun drugs when they came up with the grimoire system. Ugh.
Thanks Ellipsis. Wasn't asking really if warlocks need addons or not, just curious if any use specific ones. Can you mention some specific prot notifications addon that you use, as I don't believe I use any of those and I think it'd be nice to have? My cast bar is integrated into Pitbull so I have that covered, and I use DoTimer for my timer. I'm going to check out DemonTrainerFrame right now. You're right, I really strongly dislike the grimoire system.
I was looking at ForteWarlock before... and forgot about it when I got home. I'll be checking that out too. :)
Forte Warlock really is a robust addon with enough options and modules that you can get "just what you want" out of it pretty easily. I don't use it, but would be much more willing to if the other Warlocks in my guild did/I was a raid assistant so I could take advantage of more of the features.
I've been a fan of ShardAce for a long time, but I'm thinking about moving away from it as well.
DoTimer is a very nice timer addon, but not being Affliction anymore I've found ClassTimer to be a more than adequate replacement.
Maybe I'm just getting really lazy about updating addons without the handy WAU, but I've been moving away from my more Warlock specific addons slowly but surely for the past few months.
Note: I am very much a fan of how the Forte debuff timer looks and have considered using it again just for that.
I have my UI in the post your UI thread. The only lock-specific addon I use is EEshards, so I don't have to manually delete shards. Otherwise I find that most of the functionality I would want for my lock is about the same as I would want for most dps classes.
