same. also SVN is the slowest thing i've ever dealt with. Having 100MBit connection im feeling myself like on 9600 modem. Even connection to SVN takes a shitload of time :(
Any hope it can be improved in any way in any future?
Here.. let me say it again.
THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE SVN. THE SVN IS NOT SLOW. IF YOU HAD EVEN USED OPENSVN FOR ONE SECOND YOU WOULD KNOW WHAT SLOW IS. THE WEB INTERFACE IS SLOW(er), BUT THAT IS TO BE EXPECTED. STOP BITCHING ABOUT THE SVN BEING SLOW.
What people need to understand is that svn isn't some magical download system. Its a version control system.. and it does A LOT on checkout and update. Its not a simple 4k file transfer.
svn: REPORT request failed on '/root/!svn/vcc/default'
svn: Cannot replace a directory from within
means that you are trying to svn up a folder that no longer exists on the SVN. Locate the folder and delete the .svn folder in it. Oh, and find out why it got pulled, likely it got renamed.
svn 1.4 is coming down the road slowly (currently in rc4) .. I think it has some performance improvements, improvement of the included web interface and svn mirror stuff included ;)
I have a problem updating Tags for 2 weeks now i think ...
I deleted what seem to be the problematic files, deleted the .svn folder(s), totally deleted all my files and re-update, but still this error:
I think it's because the client (tortoise) still try to catch a folder that no longer exists, and it's a problem to resolve directly on the SVN.
Or maybe i just need an advice ^^
Because it's something like a release folder, and having it on my hdd is good so i can track new things easily.
But i realise it's useless ... as 100% of the ace addons i use come from Branches and Trunk.

If you can go into a web browser and tell me that http://svn.wowace.com/root/trunk/ is slow, then MAYBE i'l listen to you.
