In the Mac client whenever you go from windowed mode to fullscreen mode, or vice versa, with a minimap addon such as ominimap or squeenix it causes the minimap to go completely black except for objects such as your character arrow, or tracking icons. The issue is fixed with reloadui, but it is kind of an annoying solution. The only minimap mod that doesn't do this, as far as I know, is simpleminimap. Does anyone know the cause of this, or a fix for it?
because when a game has the full screen, you cannot tab out of it.. you must switch to window mode.. fullscreen = no windows, therefore no way to tab out of it..

No you don't I alt tab out all the time. I never play in window mode, in fact I'm alt tabbed out right now typing this response while I fly from Darkshire to light's Hope :p
Windowed + Maximized... there's no reason to run any other way.
On the Mac client, windowed + maximized settings does not allow to access any other applications, and switching to a normal window causes the bug. Therefore it really doesn't help me at all.
Anyway, thanks for the response. I think I'm just going to live with reloading the ui after every time I get bored or curious about some info I cannot find in game. Of course, I could just play in a window all the time, but cutting my screen area by 1/3 doesn't really appeal to me.
This also occurs on Windows clients when changing the Alpha. It goes black seconds after the alpha is set until it's refreshed (rezoning), at which point it assumes full alpha again (though GetAlpha() still returns the alpha that was set).

Edit: especially since you said ALT-tab.. on a mac, alt+tab does nothing, period.. Command-Tab however, does the same thing as microsoft's ALT-tab (command is the pre-cursor to MS adding a "Windows" key to keyboards, and in fact, on a USB keyboard, the "Windows" key will map to the mac's CMD key.
Last I checked, macs had two modifiers (the "flower" aka command, and control)... windows has two as well (ctrl and alt)... as for the windows and right click keys, apples used to have (way WAY back in the day) the "open apple" and "closed apple" keys, which are what I would call that "pre-cursor" to the win key... not your fruity flower.
Something I think we can all agree on, those uppity laptops can all take their "Fn" button and go fuck themselves.

Something to do with human capability for errors being greater than a computer's potential for automatically fixing them; I don't understand it myself.
