I'm sure many of you are aware of the drama between the "ace people" and the "dongle people". Well' I'm sick of all this shit. We've tried to keep shit civil, Dongle and Ace are both based on the same ideals, maybe even more so with Dongle. Some have come to Dongle, some stay, but both sides had seemed to maintain that each framework had it's advantages.
Regardless of this, it's been made clear by a select few that we are no longer welcome. Over the weekend my ops on #wowace were removed. Apparently there was a batch of drama and some "boycott" crap or some shit. The funny thing of this is, I wasn't a part of whatever was going on. I've never cared about my ops, it's more symbolic than anything (I admit random kicks are theraputic, but it was never a "power" I felt needed abusing). The removal of my ops really sent a message to me that I wasn't welcome anymore.
So, whatever. I'm moving on. I've left the channel, this will be my last post to the forums. The last of my addons that use Ace will now be unsupported. You're all welcome to take them and do with them what you will, I only ask that you rename them if you do. For example, MountMe on the Ace SVN is still developed and is much different from my own version of MountMe. Please rename these guys, I don't want to delete other's work from your SVN.
Adios, you can of course find me in #dongle and Google Code. There are links and an issue tracker on GCode, direct anything you wish for me to see to that tracker or google group, I will not be checking these forums anymore.
It's sad to see you go. :(
I learned quite a lot from your addons and if it wasn't for you I'd probably never even started trying to understand how to write them. So thanks for your help and your work here - you will be missed.
That's kinda sad.
I mean, of course everyone supports their own ideas the most, but my idea was that ultimately as addon authors you might as well work together. Fighting over the stuff is childish in that it only decreases the quality of what you can program together, while increasing the time needed to produce it.
Sad this community looses a very good coder because of childish stuff, instead of just having some compromises that would make all happy. And there is for sure a way to get these compromises so all are happy with them.
Just dont carry this method of problem resolution into your carreer (as you are talented and have a bright future in store, this type of thing will only serve to overshadow any accomplishments you may make.
