If you do it at login, and set it big enough, you could do that. Beware that this will probably cause higher memory use as time goes by since you'll have more strings still referenced and not getting GC'd
well i made a very small addon that basically issues the /chatlog command for me at login, and it works, but for some reason it only logs my Guild chat, and any /say and /yell and emotes. it also records my frickign ctraid channel and all that garbage >.>
but it does NOT record /1 /2 /3 /4 channels - the General, Trade, WorldDefense and LocalDefense channels. wtF?
i really just wanted a way to record what i see in game. i dont see the ctra channel (unchecked) and i do see all the /1 /2 /3 and so on.
pretty lame "logging" feature they put in for us if you ask me. lol. no options to configure, it's just On or Off :|
oh well /sigh
edit: after less than 20mins, the chat log file was over 100kb rofl. probably 95% or more of what's inside is the ctra channel garbage.
Time to start back up a ridiculously old topic. Seems every time I try to index ScrollingMessageFrame it tells me the global ScrollingMessageFrame doesn't exist. Haven't written anything in a while, so maybe I missed a change? Dunno, please enlighten me. :)
