After the patch, I have noticed my FPS has shot down to 7-10 fps from about 30-40. My computer is very fast, and I have run many virus/spyware cheacks, and thats not the problem. I have also disabled all addons, and this doesn't help. I am running WOW at 1680x1050 (as that is what my monitor suggests I run programs at) Does anyone know how to fix this?
I have all of the Photek V6.1B Addons, and the following pictures illustrate my setup
Is there any way to resolve this?
(Running WOW at a lower resolution boosts it marginally, usually 1-2 FPS)
The tough part is that you said you disabled ALL your addons. If thats the case, and you havent changed / added any new hardware / software to your PC, then the next step is sorta scorched earth theory.
first backup... ALWAYS backup.
backup your WTF, WDB, and your Interface directories.
Delete all 3 of them. Yap delete em all.
Log in, see how it goes. If its all good, Slowly restore the data you backed up. If its still buggered you may have a bigger issue with your WoW install, or with your PC itself.
First id do the WDB dir. Log in, test. All good, next, Interface, Login, test.
all good? restore your WTF dir.
Basically you need to work your way through your WoW install to see whats buggering you.
Tried the deleting of WTF, WDB, And Interface
Got the FPS to 20 w/ all settings disabled/minimum
I reduced the resolution to 1366x768 and got 20 FPS, 30FPS w/out mods
On the resolution settings, are you making sure that AA is off (1x)?
Also, check your video card settings and make sure any on card filtering is disabled.
Check and double check any background applications. CTRL-ALT-DELETE and go to processes (in Win XP), and google any you don't recognize.
Also, disable Blizzard's background downloader. I know the darn thing causes issues on my machine.
Other than that, make sure you're got proper ventilation... and post on Blizzard's tech support forum if you haven't already. Your machine should have no problem with that resolution on full settings under normal conditions.
When i have serious FPS probs i normally run a defrag routine, at least on my machine wow is really sensible to fragmentation ^^ and i think its because of the tons of addons it loads up^^

Thanks for the help in advance!
Also, be sure to post specific system specs (process speed, type, memory amount, speed, type, videocard, sound card, etc.).

Good luck your path isn't a fun one.
1 GB RAM
200 GB C drive

(Can't Find Soundcard Info)
Is this sufficient?
Got the FPS to 20 w/ all settings disabled/minimum

What could I do?

(replace enUS with your locale where applicable)
Make a shortcut to WoW.exe. Edit that shortcut, and add -nosound as a parameter.
Fixed.
Unsatisfactory, I agree, but it worked for me. Onboard sound isn't agreeing with the latest patch I believe.
Right click the wow.exe. Create a shortcut, then right click the shortcut -> properties.
