Ok, I've gone from being happy with the default UI, to using One Bag, to "losing" One Bag and using Bagnon, and back to considering using something else. zOMG! Having now totally confused myself, what do you all use, and, more importantly, why?
I've been trending to a "reorganized default" UI, where as much as possible uses original elements, so I'm seriously considering using One Bag (now that I've found it again). I've read that many, many people here use Bagnon, and I've wondered why.
Addendum: I've considered using a mod like Mr.Plow. Are these mods completely safe? I worry about mods moving items in my inventory, especially if I'm looting and/or lagging while they're doing it. I can think of a few conditions where an item might get lost! Are these mods foolproof? ^^
Honestly, I can't tell the difference between Bagnon, OneBag and MyBags. I like Tuller's stuff, but I'm currently using OneBag. Why? Because it's Ace2. Ace2 stuff is easier to update than Tuller's stuff on WoWInterface.
I too went from OneBag to Bagnon and am now back with OneBag. I went to Bagnon simply because OneBag wasn't being updated and well, I like to try new things also. I might try Bagnon again to see how the spot feature works (I sometimes have dificulty finding stuff based on the amount of alchohol in my system :X).
As far as MrPlow is concerned...MrPlow is one addon that I absolutely couldn't live without. In my time in using it nothing adverse has ever happened to my inventory. One very nice thing about it is that it includes an ignore list. Need to have your mount in the first slot? no problem, put it on the ignore list and it'll never get plowed from that spot. I also have mage water and food on ignore, no real need to move that stuff around.
I used to use Bagnon until Kaelten 'finished' OneBag. They're both great addons, pretty similar to be honest but I just liked the fact that OneBag is Ace2, I can update it straight from the SVN, and I just like watching it develop :)
I do miss the Bagnon Spot feature though... that really was damn handy when sorting out the guild bank etc.
I use MrPlow too and have never had a problem with it either, just another damn handy addon that works really nicely. OneBag has support for it built into its menus too :)
Oh, I'm using PlowKing along with Onebag but it's still pretty hard to find that one item, imo. I'd like to have some padding between each category. There's no reason that everything should be so clammed together, at least for a non-developer ;) Don't know how hard it is.
One feature I love in Bagnon is Bagnon_Spot. It lets you type in a text string and it will highlight the item(s) in your bags that match that string. Great for finding that item you know is in your bags but you just can't see.
if you have mrplow it wouldnt be needed because all your potions would be in one place
This is true...I never have problems finding potions in a plowed onebag.
However! That extra dimensional ghost revealer is something else and I'm always freaking out because I know its in my bag ogod where is it? did I leave it in the bank? I forgot what it looks like OGOD HALP!
Tuller, have you considered putting your addons up on the SVN? It'd be great to have them there if only to keep track of updates, and considering the amount of support your stuff gets from this community I'm sure that wouldn't be a problem with anyone...
I use AdvancedBagsPlus: http://www.curse-gaming.com/en/wow/addons-881-1-advanced-bags-plus.html - partly because I prefer having sorted and seperated items to one large window with all my stuff in it (sorted or not). It's only drawback is that I'm loading ReagentData for it, but once loaded the sucker doesn't hit my performance at all. It's also my bank window - the bag views show bank and inventory items in each panel, and so I can open up my tradeskills bag, and shuffle what is in the bank and on my back with a few clicks without searching two windows.
I keep checking in on PlowKing from time to time, and it's looking like it'll become what I want to switch to. Or, I'll finish gimmicking my copy of Sanity. Spot, however, looks amazingly fantabulous and it could be enough to woo me over to Bagnon. EngBags is looking good, too ...
