Since this keeps coming up, over and over and over again:
Do NOT contact the staff at WoWI asking for FA status since you write mods for/based on Ace. You need to discuss it with Kaelten, as head of the Ace Project. If he wants you to have access to that section, he will then let us know and we will grant you that access.
However, I *do* get upset when I subsequently get PMs at WoWI telling me to push Kaelten into approving someone. Don't pull a stunt like that again, or I'm liable to refuse Kael's request to give someone the status.
And as point of interest, this is the listing of requirements by WoWI to even be considered as a FA. It gets added to from there for Ace, because you have the additional requirement that you must also be approved by the team lead, Kaelten.
This thread makes it seem like Cair is yelling at me, when that's not the case (I love you!!!!!). But seriously, I don't know how this has gotten out of hand-- partially my fault for suggesting FA in the first place, and just plain bad manners on the part of some other individuals.
WoWInterface is happy to host our addons, and they provide us with great tools to keep ourselves organizaed. That being said, you're welcome to choose any addon site you'd wish if you have issues with the way the site is run.
If you expect every mod to be instantly available-- you're better off heading someplace else that has no approval process, because that process gives WoWI a level of integrity that in my opinion isn't enjoyed by the rest of the sites.
Use an SVN.. Give people the address and allow them to check our your bleeding edge. Use WoWI as a release mechanism, with the full understanding that some mods may not be immediately available for download.
