Awhile back I remember Rowne talking, almost bragging about how he got a few WoW videos of his compressed to such a small size without loosing any quality. I don't remember if he said how or not, but Im wondering how one would go about doing this?
I know almost nothing of video compression, I've heard things about xViD, but don't know how to work it.
So what are the best formats for videos? What's the press way to compress them? And all that sorta stuff...
Im attempting to save a file as an avi with the xvid mpeg 4 compression, I really have no idea what that means, but I'll check the file size and quality difference in a few, is FFDShow like a compression type? Like the xvid mpeg 4 thingy?
Yup, ffdShow actually contains its own variant of XViD, which is rilly nice.
@instant: Yup. Apple might claim 'Think Different' but the only people who really have it down are the open-source guys. Their works are mind-expanding because it takes a little work to get to know their programs but when you do, oh the power, the power!
Open-source is my drug. Well, it actually probably isn't but that's fun to say.
I installed FFDShow, unzipped all of the VirtualDubMod files into a folder that I made called "VirtualDubMod" on my desktop, and ran VirtualDubMod.exe, but I see no ffdshow video codec at all, is there something I have to do more? Maybe put things in a different path?
