You're not losing anything. Curse-Gaming has turned into a cussing hellhole of potty-mouthed pissants anyway. They don't believe in helping devs, they've turned into Eurotrash/White-trash to be honest. They're like a Saturday morning talk-show, they exist to pick at developers for the spectacle of it and to cuss their way to victoly rather than actually being of any help.
Yes, I really hate what Curse has become, not the site (the founders there are good people and it's a decent interface too) but what the lack of moderation has allowed it to become. There are just some venues which need a focus and people should not be allowed to be picked apart like that. This coming from a pantisocrat too but I believe that a developer should be able to choose which kinds of feedback they pay attention to and Curse doesn't really give them that choice.
In comparison, Curse-Gaming makes Mos Eisely look like a little corner tea-shoppe run by some friendly old man just down at the end of the street.
Anyway, this isn't a completely useless post, whenever I see 'Curse-Gaming', I just have to blow off steam.
Oh, just to clarify. I don't believe people should be censored, that's not what I was getting at with my rant above but Curse really needs to separate their replies into 'General', 'Feature Requests' and 'Bug Reports'. Then they should give the Addon authors delete and ban rights so if a person were to leave an 'Eat shit and die.' post as a bug report, I could then delete that and ban them from ever posting on any of my Addon pages again and from ever voting/downloading. However, in General they can say whatever the hell they like, I'd have no power other than my ability to not look in there and to ignore it.
Same thing happened to me today, Thirsterhall. So I logged out and tried logging back in, it wouldn't accept my password. Asked for my password via e-mail, plugged that in and it still won't let me log in. /sigh
Unfortunately the majority of the AddOns I use are hosted only on Curse. Like it or not, they are the largest repository. Surprising really, considering the numerous problems they've had.
I've noticed that, recently, ui.worldofwar has had way more mods added to it than curse... curse has really been sucking it lately. And I only see updates to mods I use once a month at best... IOt's really sad. :)
heh. yeah. my problem with wowinterface is that they have like, 1/5 of the mods I like/use. I still reload my "new mods" list and "favorites" list on ui.wow, and curse, just in case someone doesn't post on wowi, but wowi is my favorite. I wish more people used it.
I still visit all the mod sites. Regarding the 'politics' and drama...I don't bother with it. If someone is talking shit at ui.worldofwar.net, I'll deal with it, but otherwise I could care less. There are far more important things in life that getting stressed over a game.
I agree Devla I'll grab my addons where I can find then but curse has good so far now that they are banning ppl from downloaded for don't nothing but atempting to download a single addon in a day. Heck I got banned and I havn't downloaded an addon from them in weeks but one appernt double click on the download link and wham I'm banned.
It's not just that, Unchained.
Something is really up with curse lately :/ Something not good :(
I've been relying a heap more on worldofwar.net and wowi too.
I've heard from authors that curse is taking forever to get addons authorised after uploading, their posts are just full of moronic comments, usually paying out the author over a bug (I mean, a bug right? in an addon! how dare they!). Makes me sick.
Anyway, i got banned too, hopefully they get that fixed up soon, i was going bonkers thinking I "forgot" my password.
