These might get picked apart the moment I post them but I don't mind, they're just some thoughts I'd had anyway. I kept thinking about the RP system I'd like to see. The contents are in the file below, I won't be updating this thread but I'll very likely add bits here and there to the original file as I think of them.
That's an awesome combination of ideas from past and present MMO's, and something like this would be very popular I would think. Hell, you got my $12.95/month fee. :lol:
I write everything down, from passing thoughts to my innermost ones. That shouldn't be so surprising. I'd love to set it on a Planet in one of my own favourite Universes too, one of the ones that lives quite happily in my head and is quite like nothing else I've ever come across. Maybe I'll share something on that eventually and try to roll this into a whole MMO idea.
Hope you're prepared for someone to borrow your ideas and take credit for them themselves when the game is released in a incomplete state a few years down the road...

Okay, I'll attach a copyright to it and slap one of the Creative Commons licenses on it. I'll also try and come up with some background story and stuffages. If anything though I want to create a backstory based on reflexive magicks. I'm so tired of magic in games which is completely unexplained or magicks that are lots and lots of chanting and more pretentious nonsense.
I've always wanted to develop a wholly reflexive system based off some kind of reality alterance. Think fantasy X-Men, with more of a basis rather than random genetics. I'm thinking it could be by some form of forbidden act. Water pools are already taken (thank you, Ranma), as are fruits (thank you One-Piece) so I'll have to come up with something entirely original but it would be nice if people could shape their own magickal abilities subconciously.
Anyway, enough of my rambling. I'll write some more into it soon and I'll slap a Creative Commons license on it.
I kinda liked the spellcasting in UO and in Asherons call (in the beginning).
especially the part where you could experiment and learn new spells, and even learn spells from monsters by looking at their hand movement and listen to what they said =)
Always wanted to play an MMO based around feudal japan. Samurai etc. points for honour rather than kills. budo.
and they got 3 different major religions, the poor mans religion which is very pragmatic and karma based and the other end of the scale having about 300 different gods for everything you can think of. which gives lots of scope for magic.
and how many different weapons can you get out of feudal japanese history? holy shit! they got more that 50 different kinds of 1 hand sword!
ah well, me dreaming. i just get tired of loggin into these games and all the rogues are trying to look and act like ninjas. why dont they just give them to us. official. all in dark clothes with short, non-descript swords and cool arse hand to hand/assassination techniques (spec based of course). theres so much scope for something like that methinks.

I love the card system, it takes me back to the Arcana days and everything that that came with. Some very solid ideas.
