I think Vista would shit itself if I changed the mobo out, but XP handled it beautifully without a reinstall.
Vista can't shit itself, it is shit.
Now that that is said :
I get those log/fps stutters too, doesn't seem connected to anything in particular, just every now and then pfrrt and then it's ok again. I've just accepted it as part of wow life.
After spending a great deal of time around this problem, I recently found what was causing my FPS loss, and it wasn't the addons, it was CPU Throttling.
I has to be WoW causing the throttling either on purpose or accident, but I had to disable CPU Throttling completely to fix the issue, only drawback I have now is that I don't know my CPU temp, but, at least for me that isn't an issue at all, I know it's cool enough, and because of this there shouldn't be any reason why the throttling was happening.
I have an Intel Pentium D with Hyperthreading btw, (Disabled CPU Throttling in the BIOS)
Interesting thread. I had these issues back when the discussion took place. Later my wife experienced the same. I guessed addons where to blame but never discovered what was really happening. None of us have had any issues lately though.
Edit: My wife seems to remember the stutters happened at the same time on both our computers which makes WoW the likely culprit. I was on Vista, she on XP.
