as for "You cannot show who's talking in Ventrilo." there is an addon http://wow.curseforge.com/addons/raid-voice/ which does this by having you map the same key for chatting as a trigger for the addon. only problem is that everyone must be running the addon for it to work 100%... I wish there was another way... trying to get the guildies to use is is a pain... they are like how much resources does it use, and how much lag... lol

Voice clients like Mumble have a voice overlay so you can see who's talking.

Also, the statement "You cannot show who's talking in Ventrilo." is still accurate, since the addon is not actually showing you who's talking in Ventrilo, only who's holding down a key. The addon can't tell if that key is actually their push-to-talk key in Ventrilo, if they're muted or not in Ventrilo, if they're logged into the right channel on the right Ventrilo server, if they're even running Ventrilo, or if they even have a microphone plugged into their computer. :p
It says you are talking in Vent... What do you mean "what is vent?" You did install the Ventrillo chat client right? No? Well that would be why you can't hear us...
Makes perfect sense if you consider the scenario you implied in the post above it - that an AddOn can't actually tell if Vent is being used, it can only tell when a certain key has been pressed.
