I have tried using BlinkHealthTextContinued http://wow.curse.com/downloads/details/7683/ but it is really a totally different mod from the original that shows alot of additional information that cannot be disabled to my knowledge.
The only capacity i'd like this mod to show is player health %/text on the left and target health %/text on the right when in combat like the original addon. an ability to adjust fonts, scaling and position would be perfect =D.
Just got back from a week in Anaheim at BlizzCon and hanging out with some guildies down there, so I haven't really made any progress since the last post I made. If I don't get time to finish it by then, I'll definitely get it done this weekend.
I'm certainly amenable to adding a pet display. I'm still at work, so I haven't been able to look at what damjau did, but I'm envisioning the pet display attached to the bottom of the player display, using the player OOC/dead options. Hunters and warlocks only -- do other classes have any need for a pet display? I don't play any pet classes -- is it useful to see the pet's mana/focus, or only the health? And, of course, the pet display will be completely optional.
Another thing that I was thinking about that might be useful: a simple name-only display of your target's target. Thoughts?

I don't want to speak for everyone, but I would say pet's mana is useful in enough situations that it should be included. As a warlock, it becomes important when I'm on seduce duty, or dark pacting with an imp. It's also useful (if not critical) when the pet is attacking, which I assume applies to hunter pets as well.
Alright, I'll add mana. Maybe two options, one to show the pet at all, an a second one to include pet mana.
Another idea I just had while trying to figure out how to minimize the information shown: in addition to a color gradient, I might implement a transparency gradient, so that the text is nearly invisible when you're at full health/mana, and fully opaque when you're low.
