Rewrite it from the ground up. That's why it wasn't touched after 2.4. Someone (not the original author, since they were MIA for a long time prior) tried to do a Chronometer2, iirc, but either it was never finished or it never caught on. Haven't heard anything about that project in about a year either.
Generally, if no addon author has taken an interest in a dead addon after so long, it's unlikely that making a vague "I liked it better" post is going to rouse much interest. A better, and more practical, solution would be to spend some time identifying exactly what you liked so much about Chronometer that you can't find in any actively maintainted timer addons. Then, try talking to the authors of those actively maintained addons and seeing if they'd be willing to add the features you miss, or include some more specific reasons why no current addon is a suitable replacement when you're asking people to spend their time rewriting a dead addon.
How about I liked everything abotu Chronometer and hate everything about the other timer addons? :P
Class timer is horrible(for what i want), forte requires DBM which I will not install just to get timers, badkitty is big, bulky and lacks in customization.
Any other timer addons out there worth looking into?
I've spent hours upon hours looking at curse, wowinterface and wowmatrix trying to find any timer addon that is remotely close in functionality to chronometer, I've finally decided that none exists. :D
I guess I'll do without a timer addon. :P
I also wasn't trying to pique any ones intrest in it, i was hoping that it was simply the author no longer plays, and the fix would be something with in my abilities, I'd fix it so i could use it, and be done with it. I didn't ask anyone to rewrite a dead addon, stop jumping to conclusions. Makes you look like an asshole.
Well I think it really depends what features you want from a timer bar mod, whilst I used chronometer at somepoint in the past, I'm at a loss to remember anything specifically about it. You could try looking at DoTimer (WoWI), Yatba (wowace) or Spellreminder (wowace) as examples of what else is out there. All 3 offer a fair amount of customisation though they also have their own different feature sets.
Seeing as how Chronometer died @ 2.4, its code is still based in the old events, and will need to adapt to the new CombatLog events and filters.
Which is essentially a complete rewrite.
I'm currently writing an addon that will "eventually" function like chronometer, but not until after several releases.
It will be capable of tracking/filtering both your own and other's buffs/debuffs.

Well, I never used Chronometer, as I didn't play a class that had any use for a specialized timer addon until well after the combat log overhaul that killed that addon. So, I can honestly say I have no idea what you're talking about when you just say "Chronometer was better!", but can't describe a single specific reason why you think it's so great and why you think all other timer addons are so awful.
[...] stop jumping to conclusions. Makes you look like an asshole.
And how do you think jumping to name-calling makes you look?
You said you didn't have the experience to rewrite the addon from the ground up. I simply stated that it was unlikely you were going to find someone with the necessary experience who was willing to do it, and made a suggestion that I thought was more likely to get you the results you're looking for. I'm sorry if you found that so horribly offensive that you felt the need to resort to profanity.
You just came off as if i was asking someone to re-write it, which I wasn't, if i were, i would have said something to the fact of "would someone re-write this wonderful addon" :D
I'm working with yabta, and it's very nice, close to what chornometer did, with a little less functionality, but for the most part, it has everything I need. :)

I'm not a fluent lua coder or anything, but i do kind of understand what i read.
What would i have to do to get this wonderful addon back up and running?
Thanks for the reply. :)

Yatba is giong to get a shot, it looks a lot like what i'm looking for, thanks for the suggestions :)
Edit:
Yes, i was able to customize Yatba to be mostly what I'm looking for Thank you very much Craxziz!
