I have FishingAce, which is nice when you're fishing by yourself and it turns up the ambient sound for you. However, when I and 50 other people are fishing in the Dalaran fountain for coins, I turn it down. then I find myself 1) having to mouseover every single bobber until my cursor turns to the gear and 2) having to watch it for the little "bob" that it does, since everyone's bobber sounds the same.
What I would like is a small addon to change the color or text of the bobber tooltip when a fish is caught, so that it would be more visually noticeable in a crowded fishing area. I'm learning lua, so if someone could point me in the right direction or tell me if its even possible I can probably attempt to hack something together, but I'm having trouble finding where I would even begin to figure it out. Thanks guys!
Damn. I was afraid of that. So its as my mother always told me: "One bad apple spoils the whole bunch." Of course, in this case, its a bunch of bad apples spoiling it. But you get the idea.
What about the caught fish sound? Is there a way to hook into the API that fires that and change the sound, or modify the tooltip based on that information? Would it be as simple as adding a sound file to the WoW directory? Or is this again something that can't be done because of the botting?
