I noticed that on some unit frame mods the runeframe sticks out like a sore thumb (namely the release version of pitbull). I was wondering how hard it would be to write a mod that would only load for using a Deathknight that would hide the runeframe. Any help with this would be awesome, as I am a complete novice at LUA and writing mods. Simply pointing me in the right direction in learning how to do it would be very helpfull.
Why do you want to hide it? You could use a rune frame replacement mod instead...
I don't want to use a runeframe replacement mod. my omni cc and cooldown count work fine together, but in pitbull the rune frame graphics are screwed up. I was wondering how hard it would be to write a mod that hides it. I figured that you could probably do it with very few lines of code. Of course that is just a guess.
local _, class = UnitClass("player")
if class ~= "DEATHKNIGHT" then
That would work, but as a DK main I'd suggest using a rune mod instead of hiding it altogether. I've been using Runevolution lately, and I like it a lot. It includes the option to hide the default blizz frame as well.
I've actually been thinking about an "AutoExec" addon that just runs after PLAYER_LOGIN(), and executes a block of Lua that you give it.
Things like hiding RuneFrame, fixing the calendar, all of that stuff is just simple one-liners. So trivial that they barely warrant their own addons.
Sorry for derailing this thread. :)
Also, my main is a DK (since launch day) and I highly recommend MagicRunes. The cooldowns shown on the action bars are wrong a good portion of the time, because the Blizzard cooldown code doesn't know what to do with rune abilities. Don't hide the RuneFrame, just replace it.
