Oddly it looks like saroz and thrae both were working on PerfectTargets on the first of the month (you all may know this already):

but there hasn't been anything in the past two days
Cool, looks like after 6 months of nothing there has been some activity again starting last Sunday.
Edit: I also use MainAssist, but it's not the same type of thing. MA is just a superset of main tank windows, but PerfectTargets/SmartAssist (and MainAssist's tooltip stuff) is the other direction: a list of all targeted mobs and info about who is targeting them and which are CC'd, marked, etc.

I really miss this addon, especially since my job in the the raids (besides keeping everyone alive) is to make sure everyone is on the right target and call out next target, and i haven't found any addons that does this as effectively as Perfect Targets.

Seeing the same. Disabled the addon but left it installed to watch for updates.
As an officer in a raid guild who used to be main assist in the BWL days, I use MainAssist to monitor how many people are on each tank's target so that I can see DPS splits and whatnot. However, dynamic target lists (a la SmartAssist / PerfectTargets) are better because you can monitor things that aren't being targeted by the tanks.
I've used TinyTip to show me how many people are targeting a mob. I believe it's in the Extras somewhere. You can show all the names (with color-coded classes), number of people targeting, or number of each class targeting. The downside is that you have to find the mob and hover the mouse over it to see the information you want. I did play just as a healer, not an MA, so I can't quite say if this will help in that position.
It no longer works for me (at all) as of patch 2.3.
Sorry, I am at work and don't have the saved error(s) text; I'll post it later.
The version on tekkub's google svn seemed to be more recently updated so I tried it but it has localization errors (and others). I logged a bug over there (http://code.google.com/p/tekkub-wow/issues/detail?id=148) and tekkub posted to say it's not very high priority -- which is perfectly fine and understood. ;)
In the meantime, could someone please perhaps help fix this very useful addon? AFAIK, there is no alternative out there.. is there?
This is simply an idea at this stage .. I've got no LUA skills .. at all. This thread got me thinking about how to make a compliant version of SmartAsisst, with a bit of a ControlFreak-inspired twist.
Blackjack -- "Hit me!"
Description
PvE Target Unit Frames
Purpose
Allow for faster targeting decisions for DPS and CC classes
Basic Function
One row for each distinct mob targeted; number of players targeting each mob is indicated in parenthesis
Display raid icons on left-hand side of bar
Focus target (the target that your focus player is targeting) indicated by triangle on right-hand side of bar
Crowd Control Behaviour
Blue bar indicates a crowd-controlled mob (mob has gained shackle, freeze trap, banish, hibernate, etc.)
Bar for that mob turns orange once the aura fades (irrespective of whether it expired, was resisted or broken by a player)
The mob is 'loose' and the bar will stay orange until that mob is picked up
The mob is considered picked up when:
- it becomes crowd-controlled again
- a plate-wearer or an MT (as identified by MT list) is highest on its threat list (are there other better ways to indicate that it is targeting a 'survivable' player versus running around two-shotting healers and DPS?)
- it is the last remaining unkilled mob (just as there is no further point to calling it out)
Options
Bar colors (health, background, controlled, loose)
Bar geometry (width, height, spacing, toggle grow downwards/upwards)
Shared Media assets (background texture, font)
Example Above
In the example, we have a decent amount of DPS on the kill target, a shackled mob and someone attempting to off-tank a mob.
The only problem here is that the hunter trap has broken and the mob has not been re-CC'd.
Taking It Further
Maybe too far .. seems unnecessary to me, but it could be done:
- add your threat data to the mob you are targetting (as MyThreat does)
- indicate the CC type next to crowd-controlled mobs
- show a recap of the "rolling summed prior 3 seconds" of damage next to each target (why? maybe to balance damage dealers on something like Romeo & Juliette, or to determine if the group has enough damage output on Astral Flares to be efficient with Curator, or to help balance out fire teams on Mag's Channelers)
YEEEESSSS!!!! This would be fantastic. I'm not sure if you'd be allowed to click-target this list, but even if you can't this would be amazingly useful. Someone please pick this up!!
The idea of this kinda addon just popped on my head this night and i started to search if there is any of this kinda, found PT but that seem to have some problems. I will try to code this in my free times, but this is my second addon so progress might me slow. Also I have different ideas to add, will write em later.
The Blackjack concept is exactly what I've been looking for the past few weeks without success. :| So far I use MT Target's (oRA2) but it's not exactly what I want.

OMG! It's abandoned!
I never got into PerfectTargets. I love MainAssist.

Any idea how to fix the above-mentioned errors that have made it on to the SVN in the past few days?
Thanks in advance.

PefrectTargets seems to have been abandoned :/ (it works but generates a lot of error)
I said that 6 months ago but noone believed me >:(

- put a red triangle on the right side of the current target (red = target, yellow = focus)
- color a bar red if you're the person who has aggro on that target
- show the class-colored names of each individual person targeting a mob in a tooltip when hovering over an individual bar
- click bar to target mob that the bar represents (not sure if this is possible with secure frames)
- option to show power (mana/energy/rage) bar and cast bar
I really like the idea of indicating whether the targets are aggro'd on a tank.

would be just fine if it would work... ;-)
definatly an addon i would use and love
How does Proximo work in this sense? Can you click a bar to target an opposing player? (I'm not an arena player, myself, or I'd try it.)
