I'd like to have a simple addon that would enable you to sort auctions by buyout price and not only by current bid. Back in the days there was an add-on that did the job ( AuctionSort ) but since 2.3 it has been giving me tons of errors.
Any chance someone has some free time - I only got ideas, no LUA skills :]
What would maybe also be interesting is a feature to sort by cheapest "per piece" price. If for example you want to buy Mark of Sargeras or Sunfury Signets there are usually a lot of them on the auction house but the quantities are really random. It would be great if you could easily sort by cheapest "per piece" buyout to get the best bargains without having to manually check several times.
A very positive side effect would be that the scam where people put a single netherweave cloth instead of a whole stack on the auction house would be easily prevented because those would get sorted to the bottom by that method :)
The problem with writing such an addon is that the sorting is done on the server side. Lets say you perform a search and you find 214 results of Arcane Dust. The server sorts all 214 on the server side, and returns you result 1-50. This means on your client side, you only see auctions 1-50, and this is the only thing you can sort with an addon.
If you then go to page 2, to retrieve results 51-100, again such an addon can only sort those 50 items, its not a global sort across all 214 items.
That being said, you can try getting Auctioneer Advanced, it has many of the features you want, and probably more.
