It also sounds like it'd be pretty annoying to have your screen spammed with huge scrolling messages every 5 seconds, when a nice static window somewhere off to the side would be a much more elegant (not to mention less resource-intensive) solution. :P
Hmm, it seems a lot of people are posting in the Code Discussion forum when they should've posted in the AddOn Ideas forum. This might be because Code Discussion is closer to the top, so it's seen first. I don't think it would be too much trouble to move AddOn Ideas up one or more on the list, and it just might prevent this kind of problem.
ok, so lets say i wanted to write said addon. all i would have to do is basically:
If: raid party: exists
Mage: exists in raid
self should have arcane brilliance or arcane intellect
so on and so forth for the other classes. and i dont really care about AP, so could do something for casters, melee and healers... caster get notified about spi int and those buffs, melee gets not abour str, sta, AP, so forth... but not the other way around, cause that would probably get spammy...
well, PuntFu has a list like that, but you have to manually set the buffs, and if you want to set it to watch arc in AND arc brill, you have to have both on the list, and just eyeball it to see wether you have one or the other.
personally, i like mods that annoy you about procs and de/buffs. bells and whistles and messages lol.
well, i guess its time to get crackin and see if i cant program something......
Man, you guys all fail at reading comprehension. :p
The OP wants an addon that shows buffs missing only on himself. He doesn't care what buffs anyone else has or doesn't have. He doesn't want to be reminded to cast his own buff spells on himself or anyone else. He wants to see what buff spells he could have on him, but doesn't. For example, if he is a warlock, and he doesn't have either Arcane Intellect or Arcane Brilliance, and there is a mage in the raid, he wants to see that he's missing an intellect buff.
