I really would like a simple AH mod that would just do a price check, to tell you what the average selling price is for the item your about to list.
For Example if I want to sell a stack of 5 super mana pots, I place them in the window and click the "scan/price check" button and it finds all listings of that item currently on the AH and finds a avg price then enters that price in the buy out box. Then I can lower or raise the price and set an initial bid. No saving data just gives you a general idea of the current price on said item.
I know I can do this with auctioneer, but it has so much bloat and stuff I don't use.
And of course if anyone knows of any mods that all ready do something like this, I'd love to know.
Raw mean average isn't a highly useful stat. People love to post mass quantities of single-stacked trade goods at bloated prices to try to skew people that use the "average" price. Auc might feel bloated, but keeping a good history of item prices on the AH is the best way to weed out the assholes trying to manipulate the market.
Honestly you'd want more than just mean to get a good picture of what's currently on the AH and what it's REALLY worth.
That price-per-piece is handled by Fence also, which does some nice work with the auction house UI.
OP: The best way to sell is, go on during peak hours, search for the item you want to list, and find out its lowest current buyout. Then, list it at or slightly below that. During peak hours, especially on weekends, demand skyrockets, and you don't really have to worry about being undersold. I've never needed an AH price mod for simply selling things. It's really only necessary if you're looking to manipulate the market.
