A buddy and I are trying to make a mod to count the procs of trinkets, skills, and weapon buffs. We would like to take this information and turn it into a form that we could compare the added average DPS of each.
I was wondering if anyone knew of a mod that had a trinket proc counter on it. If anyone knows of one please tell me, and if there isn't one I think someone with more time and skill than me should make one.
Ideally i was thinking the mod should count the number of hits the player made with and should count ever proc of the trinket and how much damage was coused by the trinket. Or instead of counting the hits, maybe just have an in combat timer that ran. And of course it would have to be resettable.
I think it would be extremely useful, it will be great to compare some of the damage dealing trinkets like the darkmoon one, and hand of justice, and that crappy poison vial from romulo to name a few. Maybe the poison vial is actually better than those but its to hard to tell.
If you would like to take on the mod yourself, please be our guest.
Well, i just found out a little more about that mod. Seems it worked up to 2.0, then somebody changed a bit of coding for it. I'm going to try it out today once servers go back up.

Dont suppose that you got anywhere with this? Been looking into addons to check how often stuff procs, more especially my battlemaster enchant..
Proc meter is great, but it would be nice to "fubar-ise". I really only want to see the information in a tooltip with a selected proc displaying all the time.
ProcMeter does seem to only calculate procs based on attacks, whichever attack may mean.
If it is ok for melee (it seems to catch WF quite nicely on my shaman), it is not the case for every possible proc.
I can see that on my warlock, where NightFall percentage calculation seems to be based on attacks when it should be on Corruption/Drain Life.
An accurate proc counter would include calculation for at least regular procs (talented and vanilla), and possibly some way of creating new proc filters (by defining what that proc reacts to, as I see it).
Yep, I use ProcMeter and it works quite well for my mage. Only inconsistancy is my mana restore metagem, which procs on anything (blink, buff, portal creation...) which I don't think are then added into the "cast" or "attack" catagory, so my attacks remain the same, but the percentage of procs go up a bit inaccurately. Of course, as mentioned, this is skewed even more on locks, as nightfall has several ticks per "attack" to proc (and can theoretically proc on any and all of those ticks). It's still good enough for a rough reference on procs like these, but a more accurate version would be ideal. Also, ProcMeter did seem to eat up a relatively large amount of resources (I think cpu cycles, if I recall, but could've been memory--I've got lots of both to spare, so don't really remember).

procwatch was discontinued iirc.

However, I'd love to see a new proc counter, that can handle tracking more than one type of proc at a time.
Anyone?
Meanwhile I'll give a try at ProcMeter...
