There will always be some amount of lag when switching items, due to Blizzard code. But if you really *must* have an "Ace'd" equipment mod, ClosetGnome would be your best bet.
The reason ClosetGnome "lags" when switching outfits is because it switches all the set items at the same time. There's some lag when switching 1 item, you can imagine what it's like when they all get swapped at the same time.
I haven't tried ItemRack myself, but I believe it changes one item at a time, so that the player gets some interactivity during the set switch.

Just for the sake of it, I'm not sure I understood that part correctly...
With ItemRack you define your sets, and when you make one active... stuff just get changed, there's no "interactivity" between clicking/pressing key and the effective gear change.

To clarify, ItemRack adds a small delay in between equipping each item, allowing the game to do any processing it wants (such as user input) in the meantime. That way it doesn't "hang" until everything is equipped. I think Rabbit was referring to the player not being blocked from all interactivity by that hanging.
Rabbit, I'd love to use closetgnome but it's so much more strict than itemrack!
for instance, if i'm in my "Tank" outfit and equip a 2h sword (not part of the Tank set) then mount up and ride to where im going...then dismount, my Tank outfit is reapplied and i have to re-equip my 2h sword!
with itemrack, if i make a manual change "on the fly" like that, it is remembered. the only time it goes back to "Tank" is when I tell it to!

To get around this I just made a "Dismount" set that it switches back to when I dismount. It's not perfect, but it's much better than what you described, especially if you only use one trinket for your mount set.
I've gone back and forth between ItemRack and ClosetGnome. Every time I use ClosetGnome I find myself longing for the things ItemRack has or does which ClosetGnome doesn't.
Gello's a good programmer, so I'll just stick with ItemRack.
the lag you notice when switching gears must not necessary come from the switching mod.
other mods like inventory related mods add a small amount of lag everytime you take something in your bags or take something out of your bags .. and since switching gear is like taking 10 items out of the bags and putting 10 items in the bags you could reduce lag here.
thanks alot guys

It's like old style car brakes versus ABS brakes.
ClosetGnomes ride old school.
LOL :)
Obligatory comment: Ace =/= good and good =/= Ace. The Ace libraries are not magical pixie dust that makes a mod better.

That said, ClosetGnome is made by me, which DOES make it better than any other mod.
haha :-)
