Not really sure if this is in the scope of this addon, as I don't use Power Auras, but I used to use an addon for my warlock called Instabolt. It created a full screen glowing effect whenever Nightfall procced (the glow is similar to how Omen is handling the threat warning now, which is very nice). I could see the this being useful for all kinds of buffs (Clear Cast, Flurry, Surge of Light, etc).
OK, I am loving this. I have used PowerAura in the past and I love the mod. And now to see a updated replacement for it makes my day.
Now that this project is off the ground what are you (the author) going to name it? I do not recommend recycling the old name if this a complete recode. Some suggestions: "Aura" (homage to the old PowerAura but nice and simple), "Halo"

I want PowerAura (1) user's to easily recognize this ;)
However, if someone comes up with a cool idea, this would also be cool ^^

I think I'll just steal ... eeeh I meant borrow the texture from Instabolt and either add a "fullscreen" option or you would have to manually adjust the size. It's definitly possible. ;)
PS: Again some progress, event stuff completly done (Combatlog done to). I'm currently writing methodes to register events only when needed. (eg. you won't need BigWigs if you aren't watching any BigWigs messages)
Next to come are the options ... that's going to be fun <Irony off> >_<

Have I mentioned you're my hero? :P IIRC, the textures in InstaBolt were "borrowed" from another addon in the first place, anyway.

Well, after some time without updates, it's time to say that I'm finally done optimizing, testing and debugging.
The only thing that's missing now are the options, meaning I have to implement methodes to change settings in the database and the option-table itsself.

I'm somehow skeptic about that. To be honest with you, i still think this is some sort of a hoax, until there is a version on the SVN.

I mailed/requested an SVN account (I think) 3-4 day's ago. No answer yet, admins are probably still busy because of the wiki "problem"...
