Anyone know of an Ace2 addon that is a nice alternative to ItemRack? Gello hasn't updated it in a couple months. Seems to work ok still, but wondering if anything else exists that can: create custom sets, swap sets on stance change (mount, location, etc also), manage trinkets...
Gello has a few different versions of ItemRack on WoWI. I personally use the one from back in December (and include it in my UI) with no issues whatsoever. Gello is a good author and ItemRack is a good mod. But if you must have an Ace version, check out ClosetGnome. Though it can't do everything that ItemRack does, I think.
ClosetGnome has good gearset handling, but it doesn't have ItemRacks ... well, Item Rack. You can swap gear with CG and do some autoswaps - on mount/dismount works fine, don't think there's evocation/innervate support in - but you can't use trinkets and such through the addon. I rather like the gnome as gearsets is really all I want, but if you use the item rack features then it's probably better to stick with IR.
There is a lot of \"switching\" possibilities in IR... I am only using the Plagueland trinket and the mount ones on an alt, and it works... as intended.
Now I do not have a druid or mage, so I cannot say if evocation and such is managed.
As for TrinketMenu, I have ditched that one a long time ago, and am using deported slots from IR.
IR is IMHO one of those few addons that are powerful and well coded so it do not need to be Aced.
I've tested those I've come across, and I'll stick to ItemRack for the time being. It's a brilliant work, like most of Gello's stuff, even the ItemRack 2.0-beta which I am currently using, and I can't find any reason to switch away from it.
I too prefer Itemrack to anything else out there, so easy to work with. I do completely understand the request though....a lot of people would prefer to have all ACE mods....they are so easy to update.BUT , also, remember....just because they are ACE does not mean they are golden....in fact there are some ACE mods that I preferred not to use and use a standard mod..as with any mod...they all have their limitations.
I'm sure that if someone had the urge, Item Rack could be made into an ACE mod in a very short time..but it would be in the scope of the author and it may not be the same. Item Rack in itself is truly amazing...it offers so much and offers ease of use (to the people like me that don't like to spend alot of time setting it up)

Bah i hate that argument, there are updaters that update addons from most addon sites. And the update system thar WowAce use (SVN repo -> ZIP-file -> your HDD using a updater) has nothing to do with Ace. Ace is a library framework...
If its the update system everyone like so much why not ask other sites to do the same thing...

The only updater out there that works fairly good without much problems is the one from UI central....pretty much works 'out of the box', I do get errors from time to time though. There were others ..but were A PAIN IN THE ARSE to set up. If you know of any others, please lemme know :)

I like ACE mods for the translations, thx babble :)
Add ItemRack to your list of favorites on WoWI, and check maybe once a week to see if it's been updated.
I love the WAU, but I also have a list of addons I use from WoWI, UI.WoW, and Curse. I'm a bit OCD when it comes to updating my addons, and it takes me all of maybe two minutes to check the three other sites to see if I need to download anything new.
I've tried ClosetGnome, with plugins, and it was almost an ItemRack replacement for me. Almost.

I agree about loving ItemRack. I don't want to replace it with anything else, but was curious if everyone else was using something different.

No but seeing as the users on curse are having to do LUA editing to get IR to work with several new stuff (nether rays for example) it does seem a new version or at least a new maintainer is needed for it.
Yes, but which version are they having to edit? I think Gello's only working on the new one?... Not entirely sure, but everything should be brought to Gello's attention - he's an active developer.

Thanks.
Try closetgnome switcher, works as a charm for my innervates/evocations.

Tried it....felt like I needed a college degree to figure it out :(

WoWI will even email you when a favourite mod is updated.
