I've taken a liking to these sphere mods that exist for almost all classes now. Unfortunately there isn't one for my main class, Druid. I was looking in to authoring one, but then I wondered, why so many?
There are even multiples for a single class, Necrosis and Acolyte, HolyHope and Palantinus, Serenity and Sacred Buff.
I noticed these are all Ace'd mods, and understand the Ace community to be one of the best, akin to the FOSS community.
I've coded in a few languages, perl, python, php, shell scripts, tcl, but never really anything visual. I was wondering what I'd be taking on?
Specifically I'd like to unify all these mods in to one for all classes, call it Synergy or something. If there is a bunch of specific code for each class (maybe why there are soo many of these), possibly make the product modular, with LODs for each class.
Is this something that is possible? What's the spin up time for learning LUA and Ace2? Is anyone (maybe a little (read: alot) more experienced) willing to join me? Or even take the idea and run with it?
I'm just trying to get an idea of whats out there, gauge some community spirit for a project like this, and see what the overall undertaking will be.
Thanks in advance for reading, and taking the time to respond,
There's Henge, and the *was* Sprocket. Sprocket has been the best fit I've seen, because it's designed to be a generic actionsphere that you can use like an actionbar, instead of this class-specific, limited options per button crap the other mods do. There's another thread on here about bringing Sprocket back, and I'm all for it. I only use Totemus, because it gets the job done for totems... but I'd much prefer a solution to all uses, not just class-specific shit.
