Ever been in a raid and that one annoying person loots the gold before everyone is rezzed? Is it possible to show exactly who it was? I'm sick of this happening.
If you're using ML have the raid leader type /script SetLootThreshold(0) to make the grays and whites assignable via masterloot. Use 1 of you only want whites and up.
Somebody needs to make a mod that adds Poor and Uncommon to the Loot Threshold dropdown portrait menu.
It is impossible to know who can loot, the only feedback is visual, sorry.
Before this last patch you could change the LootFX to make it very clear you had a lootable corpse (I used the "cleanse" vertical-spiral animation myself). I know this is still possible to hack in, but it's prolly against the TOS now, and I've been too busy to look up how.
In theory, since loots like group loot or round robin take turns among the group members (not sure how this order is determined), would it be possible to track in which order the players looted (well, the mobs death order) and then use this to predict the next player for the mobs ahead? (even if it required all members to have this mod)
It wouldn't be a simple mod, but I think it might be theoretically possible.
Not all mobs are lootable, you'd still need some sort of "anchor point" to know that the first mob to die was looted by this player, you'd need to know the order players earn loot rights, when an item above the threshold drops anyone can loot it and the cash on the body to trigger the loot rool frames....
Did I mention that none of those things are supported by the API?
I hate to say it, but in the end the simpler solution is to train the idiots in your raid how to loot, use FFA and train them to never loot, or replace said idiots with trainable idiots.
However, the user's cursor does change when they mouse-over something lootable. Perhaps any-time the icon changes (ie they mouse-over something lootable) it would send a message saying that that corpse is lootable for them.
Granted, this wouldn't work if the user didn't mouse-over the mob at all after it's death, but it's the best that I can think of.

I thought about that but I can't find anything in the API to determine what the cursor is set to.
And is it even possible to detect when the cursor changes?
I wish blizzy would just give us a better, bigger LootFX. Someone pester slouken about this please (I can't be the one making all the UI requests!)
Better yet, just change the loot mechanics. In DAoC, anyone can loot but the loot gets sent to a random person. Why not just make it so that if you have master loot enabled, anyone can loot but grays and whites go whoever and loot above the threshold gets sent to the loot master.
Bigger loot effects won't fix the problem because the problem is that raid members aren't paying attention.
Some people don't want "junk" items and leave them behind for others to grab (I love these people). Some people don't have bag space....
Bigger LootFX will solve a good portion of the issue IMO. I'm one of the "use every part of the kodo, let nothnig go to waste" looters, and there are times since I lost my LootFX that I can't tell that I am supposed to loot something. The little sparkles really do blow on a lot of different mob models, but a big swirly ribbon coming off a mob is VERY hard to miss.
If given a big bright annoying impossible to miss LootFX, then your only issue is getting people to turn that on and to actually loot. Again that's social dynamics, but it shouldn't take too long for the fuckwits you raid with to learn to loot. How did they manage to make it to 60 without looting? Eh?

Cide from CTRA is in on it too ^^
As the skinner this makes my life hell.
I love the idea to know "who loot the Gold"

<watches as he fall over, fades out, and leaves a brown bag of loot on the ground>
