First off, I hate making requests, Al the ace authors arebusy enough updating other mods that they dont need more. But I've been searching for a mod that will do the following:
In a raid, see the cooldown of users abilities. for example, I raid with my warlock. I want to know what the cooldown time on the other warlocks Soulstone is so that we can adequetely plan for the boss encounters. Likewise, I also would like to see the rebirth ability of Druids and the auto-rez of shammy's so I know if we want them stoned or not. this is the ONLY feature I use in the CTRA frames and I REALLY want to dump it.
I use oRa_Cooldowns, but that only reports my cooldown to the CTRA clients. I'm looking for the reverse. I want to know ppl cooldowns from CTRA.
Yea, the "CD 3 30" is already broadcast over the oRA channel by any warlock running oRA_Cooldowns or CTRA.
This dosen't work in a party thou (I assume your talking your FuBar plugin that you're working on). You may want to stick combat log parsing for 5-mans. Also keep in mind that this keeps track of the warlock's cooldown on the spell, not how much time is left on the player that IS soulstoned. (I haven't looked at your plugin, I'm not sure what your tracking :P I assume its warlock spell cooldowns and not the buff's cooldown)
It's a good thing you haven't looked... it doesn't track anything, yet. I'm waiting for some help from Maia to learn how to use Rosterlib before I keep track of stuff.
What it *will* do, though, is keep track of the soulstone BUFF duration... Once Rosterlib is understood, this will be easy.
stripe seems to be wanting to keep track of the cooldown before a new stone can be applied (which is very useful, indeed.)
with 1.12 adding info broadcast over partys and raids, it should be pretty easy to spit out a
SendAddonMessage(self.name, timeleftonstone, "RAID")
Presumably if someone is playing solo they can keep track of that info themselves (though I might add this later for self). Not sure about battlegrounds, so I'll ignore that for now and hope it goes away.
Yep, Theondry is right. And I've been watching Snafu waiting patiently for the functionality.
Parties are fine, I already have a timer for MY soulstone and very rarely do you have more than one lock in a party. I want to know in raid enviroments.
For example, you're 40 man raid against Hogger has 3 locks. its a brutal battle and Hogger wipes your party. You rez and the raid prepares again for the hogger attempt.
Things i want to know (and why I still keep CTRA):
1-) how long till the warlocks can cast the soulstone again? When you hover the mouse over the warlock CTRA frame, you have teh time until they can use it again.
2-) Druids (and possibly shammys) Battle rez timer. When can they use this again?
I'm not really concerned with WHO has a SS up since praid places a nice purple 'SS' next to that person.
and we all know how bad of a mofo Hogger is.....
I hope that clarifies things. Sorry if there was confusion in my original post.
Well, hopefully the various raiding addons will (continue to?) use the same data spitting codes after 1.12 goes live. I'm not going to worry too much about learning how they do that until the patch, though.
I hope that watching the combat log doesn't push me to adding parserlib (to keep track of people who die, buff expiry, etc)... *shudder*
I haven't tried perfectraid to learn what it does with respect to this. I don't plan to any time soon; unless PR has a filter along the lines of "show only the people who have soulstones on", my display of that information has unique value, I think (and is only shown on mouseover, anyway).
Anyway... time to work on calculating time left on soulstones. (which *really* sucks since I can only test once per half hour.)
