Actually that just gave me a really neat idea... tweak the Roll window to show how many people have selected which option, and restructure it to take up less space and discourage "accidental" mis-rolls. It might look something like this (prepare for bad ascii art):
Now the Need/Greed/Pass texts would update when someone picks an option. Hovering would show who has picked this option and their class in a tooltip
The bottom right text would show BoP/BoE for the item being rolled on, preferrably in a easy-to-distinguish set of colors like BoPBoE
Perhaps shade the entire frame to match the quality color of the item.
The top right text would count down time left for you to roll and change to N/G/P when you have rolled. The frame would stay visible till everyone's rolled if you want to watch who picks what, or you can turn that off.
Final rolls would show up in the chat log as a link like the mod you linked to.
nah what im talking about is when you in say a 20man ZG instance and a coin drops. all you see is:
X rolled 99
Y rolled 45
Z rolled 69
Etc what this mod does is eleminates all that crap and puts:
[Loot results] <Playername> wins [item]
and if you click [Loot results] it opens a tooltip with all the rolls on it.
in a nutshell I have the loot rolls turned off since all it does is floods my chatbuffer with rolls. something like this would allow me to see who won the item and optionally view the rolls by clicking, (I'm an officer in my guild so I need to see the chat in /o not have it flooded out by rolls :P)
Yea, I know that's what you were talking about.. this would be in addition to that, a way to remove all the "BlillyBob selected Greed on [Beatstick]" without gettnig rid of the info completely. There are times blizzard relies too heavily on chat-spam for user feedback.

Good call. For the record I do use seperate tabs for chat just my UI has a wonderful "feature" that if i use more than 4 chat tabs, every time I log in it auto selects the last tab. I'm trying to cut down on the number of times and "tidy up" my UI :)
Your idea fits perfectly with this though, and your deffinately more capable of seeing it out that I am.
1.) Shows the winner of the last /random roll that you were able to see. Store the start time of the first roll and only allow rolls for 30 seconds to count (perhaps even have a left-click send a message to raid to /random 100 for [linkitem]).
2.) Shows the winner of the last in-game NBG roll, and have the tooltip detail what each person rolled.
Only one should be active at a time, and on Random it switches-- on loot window roll it switches.
Hrm... I like the idea of making it a Boss plugin clad (granted I loved making Titan plugins too). This could be kinda nifty...
Show current roll number for items where someone hasn't picked NGP in a condesned view, more than one if there's multiple items active... something like:
"3: 1142 ** 4: 0012" (god colors on this forum suck... that'd be Red for need, Yellod/gold for Greed, Grey for pass)
Now if there are current items up it will show Slightly more detailed info in the tooltip.. perhaps:
[Some Uncommon Item] Bind on Equip Need:1Greed:14Pass:2
[Some Rare Item] Bind on Pickup Need:0Greed:0Pass:12
After all NbG rolls are complete you could declare /random to the party/raid via the right click menu if an all-pass situation occurred.
After all that, the tooltip would show roll results, similar to while an item is still being rolled for, but show the roll type, people that rolled, and roll values (as much as the tooltip will allow)....
I really liked the concept of Zanzers Loot Spam but the dependency on his config menu kept me from using it. After a ZG raid I then decided to rip out the dep and so I have a standalone version of LootSpam right now.
I added slash cmds and an option to supress loot msgs of items lower than a configurable quality level.
As this was my first attempt on lua it's rather ugly.
