I'm looking for a mod for my casters. This mod might lend itself to other classes too, but I'm going to be specific in what I'd like to have it do for my mage and my priest.
1. I'd like it to automatically switch weapons based on my mana.
Example: at full mana, i'd have my big +int staff equipped to give me max mana. When my mana dropped down enough (say 2000<max) it would switch to my big +dmg staff. When it got even lower (say 30% of max) it would switch to my big +spi mace and my +spi offhand. It would also keep the +spi gear on when eating or drinking until I maxed out my mana when it would switch back in to my +int gear.
2. Mana could be tracked by percentage or by raw number, i.e., "when mana is below 7000, switch to staff #2" or "when mana is below 75%, switch to staff #2)
Weapon switching for casters seems to be pretty common at high level, especially with the nice enchants available now (+20 spi, +30 spell power, +22 int). I see it alot in Molten Core and to some extent in PvP. I know there are some mods out there that will allow a switch to be bound to a key for example, but doing it automatically would be a boon. Also, I've gotten wary of mods that aren't created outside of the Ace community.
I don't think it's important to check mana constantly, perhaps once every few seconds (user configurable?), but the idea is still there.
Ya know, I've always liked the IDEA of Spirit, but in all my "practical" uses INT just works out better (thank you MUSE for showing me that). I'd love to put both stats to good use by swapping out my weapon as I depleat the MP that my INT gave me.
I welcome this potential mod with open arms, end the SPI vs INT debate for me forever!
MUSE showed me that around level 50, in rough boss fights, spirit gives about the same as int... I haven't seen what happens at 60 yet (since I'm, you know, level 50...), but for the first time last night, Muse said
1 INT == 0.98 SPI == 3.98 MPS
I was thinking that Wardrobe allows you to bind keys to specific gear sets, and that it would give me at least partial usability for such a weapoin switching idea. But after reading Rowne's comments in the Equipment Manager thread where changes could be automated based on certain rule sets, it seems like that would be the way to go. The automatic weapon switching functionality would be a fairly simple subset of the overall Equipment Manager addon. Good idea Rowne!
