ok so i've recently started getting this issue where i log onto my druid and i can't move or use any of the keybinds, no chat and clicking does nothing. the world is still in motion and i can use alt+f4 to force a logout.
oddly this only happens if i have been on another toon first.
Does anyone have any ideas on what might be causing this or where to start? i have a fair number of addons but it's odd that it only happens on my druid.
The first (and least time-consuming) thing I would suggest trying is deleting your game's local cache. Corrupted cache files can cause any imaginable problem (and probably some unimaginable ones). While WoW is not running, navigate to this folder and delete all of the folders/files inside:
World of Warcraft\Cache\WDB
(Note that if you are running Windows Vista/7 with UAC enabled and WoW installed in Program Files, the WDB folder will be in some VirtualStore folder instead. If this is the case, you're on your own finding it.)
If the problem still occurs after deleting your cache, does the problem occur when all addons are disabled? If not, you will need to enable addons until the problem reappears. If you only have a few addons, you can just enable them one by one. If you have many addons, it will be faster to enable half; if the problem does not appear, disable that half and enable the other half. Once the problem reappears, disable half of the enabled addons at a time until it disappears. Repeat until you have identified a single addon that causes the problem. Then, either remove that addon, or delete its saved variables for that character.
If the problem still occurs when all addons are disabled, you can try deleting your game settings for that character:
World of Warcraft\WTF\Account\PHANX\ServerName\CharacterName
If none of the above solves the problem, post that here.
