Does anyone have a chat addon or UI mod that sanely handles pasting of multi-line text into in-game chat?
Specifically, I want to be able to paste a (short) multi-line paragraph into a chat, and have it respect the line breaks and convert it into multiple messages, rather than mashing it all together into one line and truncating it at the line limit. Would also be nice if it automatically detected lines too long and broke them into multiple messages. Ideally the regular paste key would have this behavior on the edit box, but if necessary I wouldn't mind opening a second window that accepts a "big" paste.
Seems like an obvious feature to want but all the chat addons I've tried get it wrong...
IIRC Blizzard added chat throttling to prevent spamming though I don't remember to which channels it applies. Pasting a long multi-line paragraph might run strait into the throttling limit.
Wow has nothing to help with chat formatting unfortunately. Your addon would need to have the text formatted for single line output sanely so none of your lines are too long.
I'm not using it myself so can't tell if it's what you had in mind
but I remember coming across UnlimitedChatMessage by Cyprias
which seems to fit the bill precisely.
