Alright so I installed the addon and I see it on my addons ingame but when I goto the map nothing shows up. I even made a new character and it still didn't work. I don't know if I'm missing something or what but if someone could help me that would be awesome.
I've never even heard of that addon, and I'm not going to spend time looking for it since you didn't include a link, but here are some general troubleshooting steps to try:
1. Make sure you have the latest version of the addon. If you're using the Curse Client, check the addon's project page on WowAce.com or CurseForge.com (it's the "Development Site" link at the top of the addon's download page on Curse.com) and check the Files tab for Alpha files that may not have been synced to Curse.com (and the Curse Client) yet.
2. Check the addon's comment page(s) and/or ticket tracker(s) to see if someone else has reported a similar problem, or posted a workaround. See if the addon has an official thread on this forum, or on WoWInterface.com, and check that for discussion about the same problem.
4. Check for Lua errors by installing BugSack and !BugGrabber. If there are any, then...
4a. If the addon is active (eg. it's been updated recently, or its author has posted on comments or tickets recently) post a comment or ticket describing the problem and including the error message text from BugSack.
4b. If the addon hasn't been updated in a while (say, 6+ months) and the author hasn't posted anywhere recently, post the error message in this thread, and a link to the addon.
4. Check for Lua errors by installing BugSack and !BugGrabber.
Also, letting me know whether you are Horde or Alliance and which zone maps you are checking would be helpful. Wowhead still does not have a lot of data for quest NPCs so my script can't pick up the starting coordinates for a handful of zones yet. Edit: Also, if you are in a locale other than enUS, let me know that as well.
I'm Horde in the Ghostlands. Yeah I understand that it might not have the data, I just thought I was doing something wrong...Yes I'm on enUS.
Yeah, I just made a new Horde character and I can see pins on multiple zones. Make sure you download the latest alpha, as I've been updating it with tons of new quests every day from Wowhead. Additionally, I'd like to note that because I haven't compressed the data yet, the addon will take a few seconds to load after you log in so not to lock up the client. Make sure you wait a bit before giving up. If you're still having problems, enable Lua errors and reload your interface to see what comes up.
Update: I know I should have checked this immediately, but I finally had a guild member have a problem with the addon as well, and I worked with him and realized that one of the libraries wasn't included in the .toc file. So, everyone else that had Ace addons had no trouble. r18 should be working for you now if it still wasn't before.
Alright well I just got on and updated to r18. Logged on to WoW and I waited and still nothing. I looked on other maps and saw "!" so that was awesome. Still sucked that where I'm at doesn't have them but hey I'm just glad that it works and you're updating it a lot so I'm not to worried about it. I would just like to thank everyone for their help and Pigmonkey for the app!
Oh, the simple answer to why that isn't in the addon is because they were added before Cataclysm, which means my Wowhead filter never picked them up. I'll add them to my crawler and have a new revision with those quests in soon.
