I'd like to be able to report players at will, but currently it's only available if the player responds or types something him/herself. And it's only possible to report if you click on the first line you ever saw that player type, there's at least 200 players I know that I'd like to have reported for good, but the ignore list only holds like 20-30 names.
So is there any type of addon out there that modifies the option frame so that it's possible to accomplish this?
The Report Spam feature is intended for reporting specific instances of spam in chat. As such, it requires a specific line of chat to report. :)
You mention that you can only seem to use this feature on the first line of chat you ever see from the player. I don't have this problem. Are you using any chat addons that might be affecting this?
I use Chatter too, and I haven't had any problems reporting players. I don't use any of the "name altering" options though. Try turning off the playernames module and see if it will work for you.

That said, I do wish there was a way in the builtin UI to use the "report spam" feature on emote spam. Or even just /ignore on emote spam. With nothing to click on, there's no way to either pop up a menu or shift-click to paste into an editbox.

I just disable player emotes. I figure if they have something important to say, they can damn well bother to type it out. :)

Depending on the circumstances, the Right-Click Username Report is mainly an option for spammers.
According to the ToS and EULA, they are not to harass you.
(i) Transmit or post any content or language which, in the sole and absolute discretion of Blizzard, is deemed to be offensive, including without limitation content or language that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, hateful, sexually explicit, or racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable, nor may you use a misspelling or an alternative spelling to circumvent the content and language restrictions listed above;
(iii) Disrupt the normal flow of dialogue in Chat or otherwise act in a manner that negatively affects other users including without limitation posting commercial solicitations and/or advertisements for goods and services available outside of the World of Warcraft universe;
If the person is antagonizing you and others via chat, using emotes to circumvent the ignore, it is becoming Disruptive to you and others.
The proper channel for reporting this would be to file a harassment ticket with a GM. Generally if I'm being harassed, this works, and I never hear from them again. Just be patient and truthful with the GM/s (it may be escalated requiring you to talk to another GM), if you lie, it WILL backfire.
Yeah, thanks for the reply's so far. I got IgnoreMore and FriendsWithBenefits, cleaned up the ignore list on all characters etc. Funny though.. now I can report any player without issues unlike yesterday. I don't use any type of player name altering mod/ules except player names (class color etc which should be removed imo)
Well, I can't speak for Chatter, but for PhanxChat I left the class color option in, just changed it to only apply to message types Blizzard doesn't give you the option for.
