I am tired of messing about with actionbar mods. All i really want from them is a way to change the font , red tint on out of range , show certain bars on mouseover and to be able to distinguish Numpad 1 from Numpad 2 on the text... (now it shows NP.. or something , whatever comes after....)
Is there a mod that does this , or would it be easy to fix?
I'm not sure if it's possible for an addon to add mouseover states to the default action bars. You'd probably need to use an addon to create additional bars with mouseover states; Macaroon might be a good option for that, as it does not reuse Blizzard buttons and so can add bars without replacing the default bars.
For red tinting, I assume you mean you want the whole icon tinted red, in which case RedRange or any of several other button highlighting addons would work for you.
For changing the font, I don't know of any addons that do that.
I think you can modify "redrange" along other stuff (mouseover events and so on) in Bartender to a more personal flavored action bar compared to say Dominos. I can't check that for you atm since our servers our down.
Also keyboard turning is bad, sorry I just had to say it, please don't hate me.
Yup , lefthanded , not keyboardturning though. Except for small adjustments.
This is what im used to though , and its working out ok.
Thanks for the advice sofar. What i was hoping was to combine Redrange with a mod for the text overlay. Maybe i should take a look at modifying Redrange then?
The mousover thing isnt crucial , i can live without that , would just be nice...
Edit: I misread the above as modifying the Redrange mod , i dont want to use a full actionbar mod. I just wanna overlay it on the normal actionbars. I think i am going to check out how its done in drdamage and/or some similar mod.
Edit2: Come to think of it , does any of the actionbar mods show keybindings only when spellbook or macrowindow is open? That would be great also.
Having NumPad keybindings that you actually care about seeing means you're either left-handed (in which case they're still probably suboptimal binds) or keyboard turning.
Not true at all. I am right-handed, I don't keyboard turn, and I have keys on the numpad bound to actions. Some of them are things with long cooldowns, like Bloodlust or elementals, but some of them are there because the numpad is a handy place to reach with my mouse hand without taking my right hand off my main keys to use things like Mana Tide and trinkets. Remember the old adage about making assumptions. ;)
