I'm kind of an old dog, but in this case, I am looking for new tricks. Hearing repeatedly that FuBar is bloated, laggy, etc, I am looking for suggestions, and I honestly don't know what to look for.
In my current FuBar, I have: Friends, Guild, Performance, SmartRes, Factions, Durability, Money, and TopScore.
Suggestions for a new bar that covers those things?
There is a new standard out that separates the data feeds aka "borkers" ala friend, money, durability from displays, like bars or movable individual anchors. It's kind of fubar on steroids in a way. You can even keep fubar if you like but you can try other, perhaps slimmer or just different displays.
I switched back to Titan (which is much better than it was a while back when I switched from it to Fubar), but as others have noted, we now have several options. Look for "data broker" or "LDB" related addons on the major sites.
Of the different displays (and i tried 4-5 different), ChocolateBar was the one i found to be most useful and the easiest to configure. It acts pretty much like Fubar.
Hate to continue with the thread hijack but does anyone have a good suggestion for an alternative to FuBar_NameToggleFu? Broker_NameToggle doesn't do it for me.
/on topic - I've used both Fortress and StatBlockCore. Most of the displays do their thing pretty well but a few settings/options will differ depending upon which one you settle with. So trying out a few is realistic. I ended up sticking with Fortress but am interested in seeing SLDataText 3.2 when it comes out.
I personally use ChocolateBar as replacement for FuBar too.
Yes, it's configuration is a bit kiddish, but how often do you open the options window of a LDB-Display?
For me it's perfect.
I love my ChocolateBars. I've used Dockingstation.. It just didn't... fit me. Which is why I love LDB stuff.. you can use whatever display you want, and even change displays, without ever needing to change your plugins.
CB is OK, just too kiddish with all the "chocolate" references.
Sorry I couldn't help it, I like chocolate^^
So you prefer boring options then? I just thought why add a boring description for an option that is clear about what it does from the name of it anyway.
If some options are confusing just point them out I'll fix them.
Chocolate is tasty. I've just never been one to lick my monitor. :p

I don't ever think any options are boring or fun/funny. They're there to let me adjust settings. Don't get me wrong, it's your add-on and your welcome to do as you please, it just doesn't fit my "taste", so to speak. :p
cargoShip seems to follow the same design as oUF (haste): ultra light but requires you to write code for the layout if you don't like the provided one or want to enhance it.

Here's a list of displays and brokers: http://wiki.github.com/tekkub/libdatabroker-1-1/addons-using-ldb
That's the one I use as well, plus those plugins (you are specifically looking for):
Friends & Guild: Ara_Broker_Guild_Friends
Performance: Broker_SysMon
SmartRes: supports LDB-display too
Factions: Broker_Factions
Durability: tekAbility
Money: Ara_Broker_Money
TopScore: Broker_HitCrit
Thank you. I was looking for a replacement to GuildFu.

Ah, bloat. That's what I'm trying to avoid by ditching FB. Shame, I like the look of DockingStation.
OK, so I want Broker plugins, check. As for the bar itself, bloat is bad, so CB? I'll have to check out what Fortress is.
Loving the feedback here; very helpful.
