I hope someone can help me out here; I recently updated all my add-ons via WoWMatrix, and for some reason Parrot isn't loading. I get the following in Swatter when I start up:
Customer Support implies that you are paying for a service that you are having problems with. The situation your in has neither. Support here is based on what people want to offer you.
No, we're ususaly quite nice to new people. But you did come in here with guns blazing... so to speak, irrelevant if you knew it or not.
Now that's just gratuitously mean. He posted a fairly complete bug report, he asked for help nicely, and he had no idea about the shittiness of wowmatrix.
A mature community (even one that's "at war") would have pointed him to the link that ckknight gave. In fact, ckknight's response is the only reasonable response in the whole thread. "We won't help you, here's an explanation as to why." Instead he gets "this is your fault and you didn't even know it, fuck off" and is blamed for asking questions. Most people posting bugs are "LOL it dun werk i dunno why fix it LOL" but when somebody comes along with a decent response for help, you guys dogpile him just because he didn't know any better when choosing a download site.
I think wowmatrix blows dead goats and I agree that their users shouldn't be supported, but you're not going to win any "war" by shooting innocent civilians who don't even know there's a fight going on. You're certainly not going to convince people by being assholes to those who are genuinely new to the situation. Just post the explanatory link and move on. Be adults.
Now if they keep using wowmatrix and insist on posting here, by all means, flame on. For new users, though, there's no excuse to expect them to magically know better, and they aren't going to learn unless somebody explains why. While I respect Arrow as a coder, responses like #2/4/6 only hurt your cause, not help it.
In this case though even if we wanted to be helpful we can't. Parrot uses LibRock which is very broken and discontinued. The rest of the errors are either in response to the initial Parrot error or are from eepanels, and I don't know if they would be from a user script for the eepanels core, and eepanels has also been discontinued I think.

I also get the following when I enter combat:
All my other add-ons seem to be up to date. Any help or suggestions would be very appreciated. :)
Go away.
I gave my reason. Now go away.
What does that have to do with anything?
As the author of Parrot, I refuse to give support to you if you use WowMatrix.
This.
Wow...that's just...wow.
Ok, first of all, I didn't know anything about that WoWMatrix stuff.
I just wanted some help here. I don't understand why people just jumped down my throat for using it. It's not like that stuff was widely advertised...
All I wanted was a simple answer to my question.
Ask wowmatrix?
Whatever. Nice customer support.
And by using wowmatrix, you steal what little pittance we do get.
ehm, yea, sure, just like you are, probaly...
then you probaly didn't read the link that ckknight posted

I would recommend you drop the use of WoWMatrix in favor of the CurseClient and WoWInterface's UI Manager program. I use both with no problems :)
Thats just what ya get for using junk.
I bet he's prolly using the latest and greatest AntiVirus 2009 as well.
