I have been playing with assistfu for sometime now and still cant get it.
I target the tank and click Set Assist To Target or Set Assist to Player.
I made a macro /assist
When I go to click on it it says You Have No Target.
If I make the macro /assist (tanks name) it works
but then why have the addon?
Me, too. It seems to let me assign the main tank...and the main tanks name appears on my fubar...but /assist in a macro does nothing as far as I can tell. Would love it if someone could take a look at this. It has some features that would be useful for pulling and raid icon assignment, too.

I havent seen a post from the author in a while either.
Ive got AssistFu working fine on my end using the in game hotkey. What I was hoping for, was the feature / ability to use the same hotkey to use like Tab Target when I have no Main Assist assigned. I have the ability to read code, but to conceptualize and put my own ideas in place is rather hard for me to grasp.
Does anyone know of a Mod, or hell even a Macro that will do this? Or, is there a coder out there that has a moment to take a gander at the code in this mod and possibly throw me a snipit to put in my local copy?
The thing I don't understand is, why I can't set a new assist when I'm in combat... the bound key seems to not work once we are in a fight, but if the main Assist dies...
that leads me to the idea of maybe somehow making an assist list, where if #1 dies you fall back to #2 and so on... not sure how many would be good. Just a thought. (fixing it so I can set a new assist in combat would help.
ok, I was digging in the code, and found that there is a InCombatLockdown() check for setting the assist in combat. I may try removing that... I can understand why one may want that, but it would be nice to make it an optional state. I use more Alt-F to set, so for me it's unlikely i'll accidentally change it in combat.
I also still feel it would be nice to have a MA ladder of some kind where if #1 is dead, it switches to #2. :)
has anyone found the official place to talk about this stuff with the dev?
