I just came back after a hiatus from WoW and completely scrapped all my mods and started over.
I seem to have lost something that would remember the location I dragged a window to and save it there. For example, when I turn in a quest, the quest window always goes to the very top left of my screen, which on a wide screen is out of the way and covers other display items there.
I'm sure that previously this function was part of another add-on, but have no clue what it could have been (I realize this functionality is probably a library within several add-ons).
Any ideas on something I could use to restore this type of functionality?
By limiting yourself to only Ace addons, you're missing out on a lot of really good, well-written mods out there. Just because something's written on Ace, doesn't mean it's better. Also, not everything located at this site uses the Ace framework.
Anyway, FluidFrames is what a lot of people use and recommend, but if it must be "Ace'd" then Visor2 and its GUI are good, too.
Hmm... this one won't play nice with me at all. Shows up in my add-ons, but none of the slash functions will open it - wonder if it's totally tied into the Cosmos UI now?
That may very well be possible - I recall trying to use FluidFrames, however I had to (if I recall) install Cosmos, which, given the scope of the nature and whatnot, was not worth it. I think the issue I had was that I could not set a keybind in order to actually highlight a frame in order to go about repositioning it. It's been a while; I mainly recall being frustrated in having to download additional packages to get the addon to work as it should otherwise do so (in my opinion). D:
I've never tried Visor2, but I'd certainly give that a shot.
Aside, I found myself attempting to find Ace alternatives to many of the addons I had used, and this worked well for a while, until I started finding alternatives that were more to my need, in some cases these addons lacked additional features that I did not need. Switching from Prat to PhanxChat is one example, although I do miss the alias setting. Shame it seems Little Black Book is unstable.
