My issue is simple, yet annoying. I am one of the main healers in my guild (yay!), but... one uses the default blizz interface and targetting to heal (chain healing, he's a shaman), most use Healbot, I use Grid. I tried using Healbot, but I just can't. My entire screen fills up in Gruuls etc. I just can't work with it. I am too used to Grid. Those using Healbot, don't want to sacrifice the easy-ness of click = heal. I've told em I can get Grid set up the same way, and with Clique I could easily give them the same functionality. But that aside, the issue is stupid, yet tricky. They (healbot users) see eachothers heals, I can't see theirs, they can't see mine. This plainly sucks when we have multiple partyhealers or tank healers, since we could be healing the same person, wasting mana and losing precious time on healing others. I can see their heals if they get IncomingHealsLib and LibHealComm-3.0 (or maybe just one of them). But how can they see mine on Healbot? They would get the data through the heal libs, but wouldn't visually see it on healbot.
Any ideas? I am getting to the point of just installing Healbot, hiding it, but allow it to send/receive info (but my guess is that I'd have to use those frames to heal to send the info to the other healers.)
Healbot uses a diffrent Library to communicate, libcastcomm if i remember correctly.
Therefore it uses a different addonprefix on the chatmessages and a different syntax.
Healbot has to integrate support for the "Grid-Libs" or they wont see you.
Maybe visualheal could help out,but native HB-Support is the better option.
You should talk to its coder.
Until only a few months ago each addon had it's own communication protocol for incoming heals. Since LibHealComm-3 many addons have moved to use this library instead (e.g. VisualHeal, Grid, PitBull, sRaidFrames, BunchfBars,...) - in other words, you can use any of these addons and see the heals of other users of any of these addons.
Unfortunately, Healbot has it's own, proprietary, undocumented protocol. There's two things you can do, if the other raid healers don't want to switch to a different addon:
1) convince the Healbot author to use the more-or-less standard LibHealComm-3.0 instead of an undocumented protocol
2) ask healers in your raid to install the standalone LibHealComm-3.0 library from files.wowace.com. They will then send all healing data to others without having to deal with new addons (as the library itself is invisible, it neither has a UI nor requires a setup).
But that would still not allow them to see my heals. I've been staring at the Healbot code base, I can see the comms lib, but it seems to only deal with sending errors and messages to channels, but I can't seem to find where it sends the "incoming" to various versions of healbot. Of course this could be out of my league.
It won't. You're right about installing libhealcomm on the Healbot users, that will allow you to see their heals.. But until Healbot is taught to read from libhealcomm, and represent it somehow in it's grapicalness, you're out of luck.
The only way for the healbot users to see your heals is when healbot is updated with libhealcomm support.
