Ubuntu is a big step in the direction of user-friendly linux. :P
Pre-fabbed installs aren't necessarily bad, it's not like Ubuntu inundates you with mounds of shite that's really not needed. And the removal and install of components is still easy peasy. Ubuntu's default install is just a default profile. ^__^
In regards to SSD HDs, I'd rather let the technology mature before making the plunge. It's just too expensive to buy into for something that's still rather untested en masse, and long use.
Uhm, DRM is Apple's baby, what makes you think they won't have it in there?
.aac files, from the itunes store, use apple's own drm, and have, for as long as itunes has been around....

Apple's 'restrictions' aren't remotely close to what MS's are supposed to be / were originally planned to be.
From the headache inducing articles I've read today, MS had much more restrictive ideas in mind, but Apple beat them to the punch with 'secure' formats that are much more organic and open in comparison.
It's just been the norm for so long. Especially since XP (or was it win2k?) hamstrung user group managing.
I remember being able to make custom user groups with custom permissions and what not. Instead of "Admin" and "Gimped".

I agree, I don't want to listen to a droll conversation, I'd rather read it. =p
