Oh I forgot to mention MooniacalMap .. It's my own baby, in pre-alpha phase :P But it works well. Scaling, transparency set through commands and saved. Dragable, not saved though between sessions. Working on coords.
People like choice, but don't like the choice to be "install the addon that does what you want" :P
I almost always try to write my addons so that the user just doesn't feel the need for any config... it just does what you would want... or after you've used it for a little while you realize you don't really want/need it some other way.
Well, I've always used Cartographer, it's a huge addon - let's face it. Yet it's effective, with many options. Recently I changed to your map addon, which I adopted to have transparency and if you permit me, I would like to try to give it fog colors etc and some more features. In short I am asking you if I can use what you have as base for a new map addon.
As far as addons, I am quite comfortable with editting some lua to make minor adjustments. If you create GUI option panels, your addon becomes larger, not saying less effective, but more code is larger files. Slash commands I would understand though, but when you include a GUI, you could use the standard Blizz approach, Tablet, DewDrop .. and thus increasing the need for libraries.
There currently aren't any configurations in Butsu (and possibly never will be *gasps*). You can move the frame by holding down <Alt> and dragging it however. It will position itself under the mouse if you have that selected in the Interface options.
oTweaks is far from done however, it was just what I managed to write up before I went to bed yesterday.
Butsu doesn't really need more, perhaps a way to skin it - but diving into the code/images works too :) What's with the obsession to get in game GUI configs? It works fine as it is, comes a touch above my cursor, and boom I got it. :)
Argh! How could I leave those two out?! I think I just forget that TekKompare isn't part of the default UI now.
Since I missed the whole caffeine convo, sorta, I'm another one of those folks who can drink coffee all day long and still sleep soundly. Of course, I have a tendency to not bother with going to bed, which probably affects that as well.
Yes, to TekKompare, though I disabled the hover effect (quite easy, just delete the hover something).
Jesamyn, I think we're long lost twins LOL. I do the same.
Oh yes, about TekMapEnhancer: Open the code if you want transparency as well.
Scale can of course be altered to a value between 0 and 1, 1 being 100%. Same goes for Alpha (I added that one).
OK, I have one seriously that I have to add. In the light of Cart currently throwing errors, I decided to try some obscure mod by Tekkub from his googlecode svn (Google is your friend, I am too lazy to maintain friendships with search engines at this point).
TekMapEnhancer. It leaves the world map as default, but makes it NON full screen. Which is what I loved most in Map addons. It does have the coordinates on it, transparency I don't know. Need to check code for it. But for me it's all I need. Cart_waypoints can be replaced by TomTom (WoWI -> Cladhaire, while you're at it, get lightheaded too)
Not when you're asleep? ;) Anyway, I seem to remember you going to grab a cup of coffee at 6:am... After being up all night... :P You've built up a tolerance - what will you use the next time you have exams? :D
IV with pure caffeine?
edit: eek! we're straying off topic! QUICK a mod post!
Straying off topic isn't a shame, it's fun. This is in general chat, so technically it should be fine. THere is no "Fun talk stuff with no relation to wow or addons", there should be a subforum for it too. And you're a panda??? Why have you not told me this :P
Naah seriously, the one thing I'd love to drink but never found here is bawls and mountain dew. Loads of people tell me I can't sleep with the caffeine I consume (let's see .. I only drink coffee usually when i am awake) but it never bothers me. I do drink a caf? latt? usually though, just out of habit I think. During finals, I used to even take those caffeinated pills.
ps. http://www.thinkgeek.com/caffeine/ Seerah, other caffeine addicts who live in the US, go for it. :P Sadly the things I'd like most, can't be shipped to my blasted country.
