And "srsly", why are we debating with someone with such poor grammatical skills?
welcome to the freaking internet, if you want to see "grammatical skills" go read a book
Exactly: The "freaking internet" - not the Internet. Bunch of freaks, overrunning the Internet. The horde of illiterate curmudgeons constantly amazes me. If your friends actually spoke to you in the way that you type on "teh interwebz", wouldn't you just fucking slap them with a brick and hope they were fixed? You have a keyboard which is reasonably easy to type on. This isn't a tiny cellphone with a "number == three letters combination" - even then, I tended to type full words.
sounds an awful lot like copy right, the internet is for sharing
anyway i believe the OP was talking about core libaries
Wow! NOW I understand! Since I put my computer on the Internet, it's perfectly alright for someone to install a malicious program which allows them to send spam to everyone on my contact list - because the Internet is for SHARING!
Forgive me if I miss the point, but isn't this counter-productive in many ways?
When I put together a compilation I actually never want any of the included addons to be updated unless it's me doing the update, as an author. This is important because addon updates will lead to errors and/or unintended sideeffects, resulting in my compilation not working the way I intended.
In my opinion you shouldn't offer this functionality at all. If you're going to make a UI-comp and you're serious about it, you'll also set up a decent forum and/or website where users can go to and download the compilations, and where addons are kept up to date by the author who ensures that everythings works the way it was meant to work.
Perhaps there could be two options: One for people like you, whom actually take care of the compilations, and another for the "OMG! LOOK AT MY PRETTY UI!" people who will forget about it the next week.
