Yes when I said non developers I simply ment 'those that do not help out in the development, testing, or bug fixing processes in any way'. Those are the kinda users that the hostilities from us 'vocal' members of the community are directed at, not those that do help but lack the ability to code or anything like that.
Hell competent testers that can actually tell which addon an error comes from instead of posting a huge Swatter log in the comments page of the first addon name they see in message are worth their weight in gold around here too.
Those that simply say 'I got an error' can fucking DIAF though.
You said Ace is a developer community, except that's the problem. Its a developer community that became too mainstream with non developers, and those non developers need to go (and I get a strong indication you aren't a developer from your post too, and if you are then you aren't one thats been active in the Ace community). So working with curse to give the non developers a way to get their addons from curse and give the developers better tools is a great partnership.
