Damage meters are known to go through changes for 2.4. May be worthwhile to do a comparison of addon types that are more stable through 2.4. For example bag addons won't see such a change.
Comparing damage meters a little after 2.4 when the dust has settled may be more meaningful.
Actually, bag addons will change a bit in 2.4 as well. According to the upcoming 2.4 changes thread,
* NEW - freeSlots, bagType = GetContainerNumFreeSlots(bagIndex) -- Returns the number of free slots in a bag, and the type of items that can go in the bag. For bagType, 0 means any item can go in the bag.
* NEW - bagType = GetItemFamily(itemID | "name" | "itemLink") -- When used with a container, this returns the type of container. When used with an item, it returns the type of container the item can go in. However, bagType is a bitflag, so GetItemFamily for something that could go in a quiver (bagType 1) and an ammo pouch (bagType 2) would return 3. A bag that can hold both arrows and bullets would also return 3.
These changes may seem minor but would actually allow quite a bit of simplification and optimization for many addons - particularly those using overly complex or bloated solutions to the problem of figuring out which items can go in which bags (e.g. PeriodicTable).
Maybe unit frames would be a bit more stable for comparison. :)
