lmao... please don't start the Chuck Norris crap here lol... horde barrens scared me for life.
Darn you all now I really cant remember why I wanted to respond... oh yea it was about the zips.
Granted, I know that having all these various cross platform updater's and cross site update programs is helpful and such, I fail to see how it is a requirement.
I mean don't get me wrong I am as lazy as the next guy but since day one I have always searched various sites for addons.
Curse, worldofwar, guru, wowinterface and all for various reasons and some times certain mods. I never really found it to be a hassle to download all the files manually. that being said I do think at least for wowace.com WAU is a good thing. Since the majority of my mods are addon (soley for easy of support/updates) it makes things easier I don't quite see why everyone is up in arms about what files are or arn't hosted on a site.
(i know its a bit off topic but it was a long weekend and i figure a slight change might be nice).
What is the (dare I say) obsession with reducing memory usage below 30? I hit 30 and go up to 45 in a full raid. It doesn't affect my WoW play at all. The only thing I notice is my initial loading time is increased a few seconds.
What is the *noticeable* advantage in fanatically keeping memory usage to ~25 for an end user like me?
Oh and the reason I use "ace2" mods. I like the mods. I use "non-ace2" mods too :P I do peruse this forum the most, because it's the most active between all of the mod sites, and the community is excellent.
personally I holding pitbull responsible for some, due to the fact that I use all the options enabled (powerspark, interactive lines, visual healing, ect...) but I am also assuming that ther eis a few other in there to.
yea I dont know why to be honest, I have one or two addons in mind as the culprit but i havnt taken the time to figure it out. I have a ton of spare ram and my computer donst flinch so its not high on the priority list.
I will let you know when I figure out who the culprite is, but 80 isnt the highest its gotten.
well spoken clad, and i do wish there was less drama... wow has enough with out everyone else.
I just stoped by to offer a quick prayer of thanks to the gods of Ace (and dongle) for magically allowing me to start a thread I did not physically start....
(and chance my power can say... ohhh magically grow me a star or two? *wink*)
but for what its worth I agree with clad and K that ace should probably be smaller than what it is but its also a great tool as is for a lot of folks and i guess if you know your code you can allways write your own smaller libraries...maybe?
anyway here here to dongle being the core ace was and ace being a great tool box for us noobs
I do follow, thanks for the clarification. In this analogy I would say maybe being a mac is better at least for a user but I would imagion glue might be a bit more advantagous if a coder knew their stuff... and a bit more disasterous if they didnt lol
I really have to pay attention around here. Sorry to see you go tek but to be honest I dont even know what dongle is (well minus the wiki) and I didnt even know there was the whole lunarshpere thing till the other day as well.
I am not a fan of drama, I rarely see the point of it and I am sorry to lose a good coder such as your self over something which in the end will be less than trivial to the whole time line of 80 years on the earth ya know?
On another note... I read the wiki but how much lighter can dongle be than ace? and what is glue?
