MR Tech Disable XPI Install Delay
I'm still making my way through the extension library. What I'd still like to find is a way to force mousescroll to work over the current object. I have to click on the area I want to scroll. Also a way to kill pop-unders. And I'm still looking for a way to resize the search box.
I must say that Firefox is blazingly fast compared to the IE engine. Not even close. Firefox says to IE: "Um, buddy, you might want to replace those old, rusty skates with some sleek new rollerblades like these..." *meep meep* zzzziiiiiiiipppp!
I don't argue that Firefox is the better browser. I've always hated IE. Really I can't stand much of anything Microsoft. I've used it out of necessity but now that open source is starting to come along as a very viable alternative, I'm starting to replace my MS apps. The reason I'm still using an IE strain is because of AvantBrowser. This browser has made IE as tolerable as possible and it also gives me several amenities I've gotten quite used to over the years. I have downloaded a lot of extensions and it looks like I'll be able to replace Avant, but there are a couple minor things I can't figure out.
1. When I click on a link that opens up a new window, such as links in forum posts, I want Firefox to open a new tab automatically. I can use ctrl+click but that's a nuisance.
2. Can I move and resize toolbars and toolbar elements? For example, the little Google search window is super tiny. I'd like to widen it but don't see a way to do that. Is this another extension I need?
I was just looking at the Ace web site stats and found this interesting:
Firefox: 44.6 %
IE: 40.2 %
More people visiting Ace are using Firefox than IE. I thought IE still held the lead in the market. Am I wrong, or is it just that the Ace crowd is a special crowd? I am currently still using an IE variant myself, but that will change soon when I get time to play with Firefox and install the plug-ins I need to replace AvantBrowser.
