Coming from EQ, I've never questioned the presence of the /train command, nor the querky emote that was associated with it. I would just lvoe to see a more a fluent use of such an emote.
Transportation in general is subject to scruteny IMHO. If I could only get my Hyppogryph or Wyrvern to fly a straight path between point A and B, that would be an accomplishment in and of itself! Perhaps the first time flying to a location, a scenic detour up the river of Stanglethorn would be nice, just to see the sites, but after that - let's get to business. While my retarded Wyvern is going through every possible zone between Kargath and Arathi Highlands, the town of Tarren Mill is being pummelled to ashes! I could arrive 5 minutes earlier had it not been for the accursed beast stopping to say hello to his distant cousins in Wetlands...
Enter the portal system. While the gnomes and goblins clearly have a "lock" on all things gadget-ty, they could easily monitor the placement of such devices beyond BootyBay and Gadgetzan. Even the Horde would conform to a pact of not eating the Oompa-Loompa's in trade for such quick traveling bliss. And the occasional loss of body parts during re-animation is acceptable and expected, so that would not boon the process.
