I searched through quite a bit of this thread and I couldn't find anything, so here goes-
Is it possible to display all 25 pets in a 25 man Malygos in Grid? I only show 5, and have to turn on other unit frames' raid pets to do the fight.
If you update to the latest version of Grid and set the raid layout to "By Group 25 w/ Pets" then you will get 25 'pets' displayed in phase 3 of Malygos. One for each person's drake. This makes it much easier to heal in that phase, by the way!
Oh, also, Pasta, no clue if this is something you'd be interested in adding to the core, but I've added an option in my local copy to use the dispel icon instead of the debuff icon for generic debuffs ("Debuff Type: Poison") etc. It defaults to using the icons for Remove Curse, Cure Disease, Dispel Magic, and Cure Disease, but if you're playing a class with dispel abilities with different icons it will use the icons for the dispel abilities you actually have (i.e. mages will see the Remove Lesser Curse icon instead of the Remove Curse icon, which belongs to the druid spell). For paladins, I opted to use the Purify icon for all Cleanse-able debuffs, as Cleanse itself shares an icon with Renew, and that seemed liable to cause confusion. I can send you a diff if you're interested.
If this is added, please make it an option that can be toggled off. I prioritize whether or not I'm going to dispel a debuff based on it's icon. There's also some debuffs that I just don't want to remove, like Unstable Affliction.
I have the following layout with the "Layout -> Horizontal groups" option selected. This makes a nice long row of everyone, but the pets are obviously on a separate line. Is it possible to have pets in the same group as their master?
I hardly play any BG's so I dont know where to debug this.
If you find any soloutions, let me know and I'll update GridStatusHots.
It might have to do with this, "As of 2.2, UnitName is confirmed to be bugged. UnitName is returning "Unknown" if not applicable, or nil if the unit code itself is invalid (such as "xyz"). This will be fixed in 2.3."
Yes I'm aware that I can change the priorities of certain debuffs and filter them, but I'm interested in seeing 3 debuffs at once, that do not cover up the name and health bar of that player.
There might be a plugin out there that gives this functionality, but it does not exist in the default Grid package currently.

Edit: oh and any tips on how to get certain "red" debuffs to show? I'm thinking of mortal strike and raid encounter debuffs.
I believe Mortal Strike is already on the list, you just have to select where you want it displayed and adjust the priority as necessary. For any other debuffs or buffs, just add them to Grid (including MS if it is not already).
I love Grid on my priest, but I have two big problems with it:
1) The range filter is only 28 yards, but I've seen other addons with a range filter of 40 yards (the range of healing spells). Why doesn't Grid have this? Or am i doing something wrong/using an outdated version?
If you are playing a character with a spell that has 40yd range, Grid will use it for range checking. Works this way on my Priest. Works rather well.

2) The debuff display is pretty poor in my opinion. The debuff icons cover the name and health bar of the player, and I can't seem to get a way to make Grid show more than 1 debuff. For effective dispelling though it's critical to be able to see all the debuffs on the player though, or at least the first 3-4.
Basically I would like to see room for up to 3-4 small debuff icons (with tooltips preferably) that do not cover anything else.
You can only see one icon at a time, but you can configure Grid to give you a wealth of information. For example, you could set each corner of Grid to display a different colored square based on what type of debuff someone has. By default, Grid uses - I believe - the upper right corner to display all of these, but you could certainly assign each corner their own debuff.
You can also adjust the priority of each debuff type or even by individual debuffs (set the order of which debuff icon is shown when there is multiple debuffs). For example, I created a custom debuff entry for Unstable Affliction and set it to a higher priority than the generic Magic debuff. Then I can always see when someone has an Unstable Affliction on them and I know not to dispel it - very useful for Magtheridon trash.
Being that you are a Priest and can only dispel Magic and Disease, you'd most likely want to set these two debuff types to be a higher priority than Poisons and Curses. My personal preference is to set Magic debuffs higher than Diseases, because I always encounter more Magic debuffs.
don't know if it's possible or not but i'd like to make a grid layout that would put G1 G2 G3 G4 on one line (all horizontal that is), and G5 G6 G7 G8 on another line on top of the first line, so how do i proceed ?
You can create your own layouts, sun. You can either make it a separate plugin like the one you linked or just add them to the GridLayoutLayouts.lua file.
I think this will do what you want. Make sure Horizontal is checked in the layout section.
Right but see, If my heal hits for an average of 1200, I'd want to know when someone has lost only 1200 hp. I can't do this however because 99% to a warrior is much different than 99% to a mage. Know what I mean?
Do you not have the Health deficit turned on?
Grid -> Frame -> Center Text (or Center Text 2) -> Select Health deficit
This is an example with the Health threshold set to 100 and with the Health deficit set to Center Text 2:
