Shadowed Unit Frames are somewhat similar, although they have grown quite alot with more options and all that. I am however not sure if they have been updated for 4.0 yet.

It did actually still work until now?
But yes, i don't think anyone will be updating agUF, unless ag comes out of hiding. ;)

The Party Leader icon doesn't seem to update properly anymore, at least on my player frame. If i start a group, i don't get the icon until i reload ui. And if i had the icon, and leave the group, it doesn't go away :(

ag seems to be busy again, but i discussed it with him before already, and if he isn't here for 3.0 release, i will push the Ace3-WotLK version to trunk for all of our enjoyment =)
